Hey, so i have a nokia n70 for a small while now, was looking through it the other day and realised i have opera mini installed on it, i was wondering if it's any good?

Like is it better/faster to use than going through the normal online thing on the phone? I don't use the online stuff much, but when i do i find it very slow, which is a pain, would opera be a help??

on my n70, boards would crash the built in browser every time i tried to load it. opera mini handled it with no problems. its far better.

but if you're on standard gprs charges watch out because its extremely expensive

Opera mini is a much faster, smoother way of browsing websites on a mobile. When i show it to other people they always think i have some kind of special mobile as opposed to a bog standard W850i!

Just make sure your on an appropriate data plan because as commander vimes has said it'll be a tad expensive.

If your on a data plan that will allow a decent amount of traffic then you can't go wrong with opera mini. You can access the 'proper' web, although actually using less data than from a pc. Opera mini is what i'm using now with my e65 on the train, somewhere?

Oh cool... Well i'm currently on vodafone, so i think i pay a flat rate of 99c a day (plus connection fee) and that's all...

I think I'll have to try it out..

Also, n00b question i know, I presume if i have 3G turned on, the internet will be faster?

    only if you're in a 3g area.

also, opera mini is great. you can turn off picture and stuff to save even more pennies. damn data charges

Data charges are completely nuts on pay as you go with Meteor. I couldn't believe it. I logged into one website with images disabled and posted a message on its shoutbox to try out Opera Mini and it cost over 2 Euro.

what the hell is the justification for those kinds of prices? Surely they'd make more money if the service was cheap enough that people actually bothered using it. I mean, I'll never use it again because of that but if it had worked out cheaper they'd have gotten more money out of me in the long run.

    The pricing makes no sense.

Anyway Opera Mini rocks, its so easy to use, fast and has all the right features for a mobile browser.
