Flights n a bed... got it for €570pp all in for 4 nights.

    Flights with www.delta.com where €390 and a room in a hostel was €132 for 4 nights.(18-22 jan)

There's 3 of us going and we booked a 4 bed room in a hostel on times square, hostel only has two rooms(4+8) so we've a room to ourselves. Check out www.hostelworld.com for cheap beds.

There's plenty of other places to stay but having been before I know that all the room will be used for is sleeping n storing shopping in. I spent a bomb on a hotel last time and spent very little time in it...

I think its a bargin, just in time for the sales....

Hope you have a successful trip.

Suggest however that you listen to the Liveline podcast dated 7/11/07 from RTE on the subject of Delta.

Truly shocking in this day & age, & with competition so intense in the airline industry, amazing that any airline would behave in this way, in what would appear to be systematic.

Hmmmmm... mixed reviews. Been reading up about them. Tis 50/50... Only thing going for me is that i'm flying in jan, less people will be flying at that time so less chance of flight being over booked. I can see where thats comming from now.. Last time I went to NYC it was around the same time n plane was about a 1/3rd full...

I'll be ringing them 2 weeks before hand, a week before hand and the day before to double check everything... seems to be the best policy.

www.orbitz.com has better looking deals. For a little less you can get flights and a three star hotel

I know plenty of people who have flied Delta and been absolutely fine. There's alot of scaremongering going on here. I even know people who have flown FlyGlobespan and have been fine - imagine that.

Thats the thing... people have bad experiences with lots of different companys.

Hopefully after the "joe duffy show" the plane will be empty....

€570 is about $835. Hyatt Place Secaucus(3 star) works out $807(€550) so its looks a better deal. You could probably get more off if you search for a coupon for orbitz on google. Such as this one http://www.couponloco.com/coupons/orbitz.aspx

Haven't you heard? Joe will be on your flight talking incessantly in his Dublin'ese! You'll be OK though, he'll be in first class! (Identifying with Dublin's working class only goes so far!) :D
