Sky Refund Policy??

hey everyone, just a quick query that i hope you can maybe give me a bit of advice on.

back in may my girlfriend rang sky to install the sports package as there was a boxing match on that we wanted to watch (the boxing was on sky sports 1 - not sky box office). the representative on the phone said he'd install it right away but after some minuites/hours later nothing happened. we rang again the next day and got someone different on the phone and again the same story - she said she would install it for us but again nothing happened. we decided not to bother installing it after this as it was proving to be too much hassle and in any case i had found out the result of the boxing at this stage anyway. we thought nothing more of it.
my girlfriend pays for sky through her direct debit and as she has numerous direct debits going out of her account every month she didnt notice until now that she has been paying for the sports package all this time even though it never came through and we havnt been able to watch one single second of sport.
She rang sky and told them all this and they are telling her that there is nothing they can do etc... the usual shyte.
Im wondering is she entitled to a refund seeing as all this time she has been paying for a service that wasnt being provided??
i know sky will do what they can to make her try and hang up the phone and say no more about and to be honest she is too nice on the phone anyway. i havnt rang them myself yet but im considering it as i would be far more assertive on the phone. will this assertivness get me anywhere or am i wasting my time??

any comments will be greatly appreciated.

She'll just have be more assertive.

I doubt if you speaking to Sky will help, as they usually only want to speak to the account holder, but no harm in trying.

If she wants a refund shell have to ask to be disconnected, citing that she is unhappy with the service being supplied. I have had numerous issues with SKY and have received refunds due to lack of service. Typically they pass you to the disconnections dept and they try to convince you to stay, i.e. offer a refund or a discount going forward.

You have to be prepared to disconnect!
