So which one do people prefer to bowl on? Wooden lanes(i.e. the lanes in Palmerstown) or Synthetic lanes? I think I much prefer synthetic lanes, but I did get my highest score on a wooden lane, not used to wooden lanes at all.

Well I've always preferred Wooden Lanes as that's what I learned to bowl on.

Also...unless things have changed recently the lanes in Palmerstown are Wooden. I used to work as a mechanic and lane maintanance guy in Palmerstown, please don't tell me they got rid of those lovely wooden lanes!

Apart from Palmerstown, the other place I loved bowling in was Stillorgan Bowl, before LeisurePlex got the place. They had wooden lanes too :)

Sorry I meant to put what was written in the brackets over to the wooden lanes bit, me tired :( Yeah they still have wooden lanes, which I never really liked, but then again I beat my previous high score on those lanes lol

Synthetic for me. By far easier to maintain and have a much longer life span. As far as I now XL Bowl are still on wooden lanes. Don't think the Johnston's changed that part of the place in recent times..

Its all the same to me as i used to bowl in bray when i started and then in stillorgan when i got better.

But if i had to pick one I would say teh synthetic.
