New IÉ Timetable now online

I see from Irish Railway News that the new IÉ timetable is now loaded up onto the online journey planner at www.irishrail.ie

Most of the changes appear to be on the Sligo, Rosslare, and Limerick Junction-Waterford-Rosslare routes, along with a commuter service from Nenagh to Limerick.

Someone must have been up all night as there's a summary of the changes on IRN's messageboard already!

morning trains from enfield have times changed slightly and there is one service gone from what I can see, an afternoon one.

07:40am is the arrival time into Dublin Heuston.

there is an article this week in the "Leinster Express" newspaper (mostly read in Laois). basically a regular commuter states how he has been docked wages by his employer due to him being late arriving into work. while his employer understands the long commute etc they felt it was going on for too long. the guy works in the jewellery industry so late working etc (for security) was a no-no. this all started by the way when irish rail decided to extend the original 06:45am from Portlaoise all the way to Limerick. ever since then the service has been crap.

hopefully now with the restoration of early morning service (06:30am) this will help this guy and others actually get into work earlier or on time at least.

takes over an hour and a half though - surely quicker to drive or even get the bus.
