Good tasting oils/fats

I am currently low carbing it with decent results but I am finding it difficult to consistently get the fats in. I am relying on the same foods, nuts and nut butters every day and while I love their taste I don't know should I be varying it up

As a result I think I am under eating (and therefore hampering my progress)

SO can anyone recommend some nice tasting oils and what foods I may drizzle them on (high in protein and very very very low in carbs please) I have walnut and grape seed and these are not too nice.

A question aimed at g'em, avocado. They have about 12grams of carbs in them. Should i leave them out or can I count them in as a decent fat source.

Great fat source, eat away. Much of their carb content is fibrous so it's not counted. Avocado oil is delicious on salads and meats too.

At the risk of putting a spanner in the works: take a step back from the carb counting. You've been at it for a few weeks now and you know instinctively what's good and what's bad. If there's anything you're unsure of, by all means ask, but maybe take abreak from being super-accurate with your carb grams.

Instead make meat, oils, eggs, nuts and veg your numero uno priority and try to get as wide a variety of them in as you can. See if you can figure out which foods make you feel nicely satiated, which ones hit the spot, which ones give you energy and which ones you really just don't like. The food you're giving your body is good - now just have trust in it to process it the way you want it to.

Yeah I will prob be very strict for the next 3 weeks to get a solid 2 months low carbing in.

Will relax the carb counting then but staying away from rice, pasta, spuds and bread etc they have a very bad effect on me.

I love sesame oil, dunno how good it is nutritionally, but taste wise it is great. A little goes a long way, i.e. it is really flavoursome so you could mix it with olive oil and it still will tastes like sesame. It is recommneded to mix with veg oil if frying as it burns easier.

Gives a great chinese taste & smell to food. You get big bottles cheap in asian stores. Be careful since many brands are just mixes or flavoured as it is a little expensive. You get it in supermarkets in the oil or chinese food section.

As it burns it can be drizzled on afterwards onto stirfrys.

Sesame oil is very flavoursome - (be careful how much you put on.. It can get overpowering) really transforms the dish though!
I think it is worth buying a really good quality olive oil for salads - to use as a condiment more than cooking.

yeah about the avocado oil and olive oil, tbh it all comes down to taste. Personally i prefer blander oils such as ground-nut oil. Also i dont know but you could also consider some real butter and the likes in small amounts too. Maybe try and mix it up a bit!

Try pumpkin seed oil. It tastes unbelievably good on most salads or omelettes from my experience.

Peanut oil is delicious. (Is this also called groundnut oil?)

It has 884kcal per 100g and no carbs.
