Digital Pianos in Ireland

I'm thinking of getting a Roland KR 103 digital piano. It seems that the only place you can get them is in Pianosplus. Of course this being Ireland I suspect that they are very overpriced even though the offer an 80% trade in, should I want to upgrade.

What other places in Ireland do digital pianos?
What other models should I consider?

I'm sure Waltons do them. Give them a call and ask.

The Sound Shop in Drogheda sell General Music (GEM) as well as Roland.

Nah. Waltons only do the older models and they are even more ridiculously priced.

I checked Thomann and the price is very good. The issue I have is that if something goes wrong then i have to ship the Piano back to Thomann and that would end my savings plus be a right pain in the hole! Pianoplus are open to negotiation on the price and for this kind of instrument I would prefer to buy here. I generally purchase all other musical pieces overseas.

Barring the lack of speakers, this Roland has most of the same features for a grand less:

That maybe true G-man but this would be going in a main room in my house and the KR is a nice looking instrument (with speakers ;))

As the owner of two Roland keyboards, I doubt very much you'll have any problems with it. I spent €2,500 on an XV-88 a few years back and it's never given an ounce of bother. If I was in your shoes, I'd go for the Thomann option.

Another thought, Music Maker in Exchequer Street are Roland agents. I've seen Roland digital pianos there. They always do good discounts for 'cash'. Give them a shout.

    Music Maker

Thanks Crosstownk. I am not a fan of Music Maker at all and past experiences have put me off buying anything in there. However I will get a price so I have something to bargain with.

I got a Yamaha CLP-240 from thomann about 2 years ago and it arrived fine. Wouldn't worry too much about ordering from abroad

So what do you think of the CLP240?

I love it :D Very happy with it. It has some really nice features for learning songs. Like it has a number of classical pieces saved on it and you can listen to just the right hand or the left hand playing. It really helps when learning. You get a book of sheet music that goes with the songs saved on the piano too. Can also be hooked up to a pc (usb out). I got it in Rosewood and it looks really nice in the sitting room
