Post Work Out Meals/Snacks

I'm looking for some advice on post work out meals/snacks. I generally train in the evenings, and get home around 8, 9 or 10, depending on the day. My current goals are weight loss (want to lose over 2stone!) and a tone up, so I'm doing cardio and some light weights at the minute.

What should I be eating this late, considering bed time is around 11ish. I have been trying to avoid carbs after around 5 in the evening, and big meals after 7ish.

So when I get back from the gym late I might just have some fruit and yoghurt or some salad with chicken/tuna etc? Is this ok, or have you guys any suggestions?

Change your workouts to heavy weights, and your cardio to short HIIT sessions.

The fat will fall off you also you can eat a "normal" meal when you get in.

"Normal" means clean enough , but some brown rice/wholemeal pasta is grand on the carb front.

maybe i should clarify. when i say light wieghts i mean that i've just really started in the gym, so I am starting off with the basics. Im doing chest presses, shoulder rows, arm curls, shoulder press, leg pres and arm extensions, three times a week, 3reps of 12, as heavy as i can manage. do u recommend something more intensive?

as for cardio, I do 15means on arc trainer and 15 mins on treadmill before weights, and then i go for a jog or swim every other day, and play 5 a side every few weeks.

On this program, are my post training meals okay?

Most post workout shakes are 2 parts simple carbs to 1 part protein. And taken immediately after a workout.

Rather than drink bland glucose I use this as a time to indulge in food I enjoy, so I have oat pancakes with lots of egg for protein, with lots of maple syrup for simple cars, washed down with a strawberry whey shake.
