    hi all

my sister is getting married next feb- she has everything done(mostly)

She doesnt just want the traditional music as she walks up the aisle she wants the instrumental version of "Night Swimming" by REM (i know its odd having a song about skinny dipping playing but it really is a beautiful melody)

This is what it sounds like - http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6WhWjsM6QM

Anyway we cannot find it ANYWHERE- i have trawled music shops and the internet and there doesnt seem to be a recoreded version of the instrumental. Shes pretty down about it she adores that song and has always pictured that as the song she walks down the aisle to

    Can anyone help?

I can't view the link at the moment.

Have you considered employing some classical musicians? It would cost a bit but what it would add to the whole ceremony would be incredible. You could have them play several times through-out the mass.

I have a couple of CD's at home that I purchased from street performers, I don't think it's on them but I'll check.

Duplicate thread, there's already recommendations in the Music forum with links to CD's, and MIDI files for download.

    Hi pepper,
I was browsing the site as I'm getting married in June and saw your post. I'm a classical musician and teacher and can easily arrange this for you but I'd need to know who's playing it? for example is it for a piano and singer, string quartet (plug! our website is www.alphaquartet.ie!!) etc or organ or even guitar. as they all are for different lines etc. I charge 40 per hour for an arrangement (same as teaching) but should only take about two hours - it would all be done on software and easy for musician to read. if you are interested give me a shout on mbarnecutt55@hotmail.com. good luck X

I would definitely check with the Church first. After all, you are bound by their rules. I know in our Church this would not be allowed. And what is it with all these mod tunes (while I like them, I think there is a time and place). As I have sung at weddings (Church) there are some lovey ones out there. Sometimes some of the tunes chosen for sentimental reasons can be cringing for the audience, especially if some of the younger audience know the lyrics and it seems in this case, skinny dipping lyrics are somewhat inappropriate!

Let it be the first tune at the wedding celebrations afterwards!
