    Hi folks

I have a Sony F717 camera, its a bit old at this stage, I bought it in 2003. Looks like the CCD has gone a bit dodgy. When I take a picture it looks only Green and blue and very dark .. think CSI type..

So wondering anyone know what i should do, or should I invest in a new camera altogther.

    Thanks

Probably cheaper to get a new camera at this stage. Unless you can live without the LCD...

I used to have a 717 and I remember reading somewhere that CCD failure is very common with 717 as the camera gets to certain age / clicks. I vaguely remember reading that Sony was replacing them for free (!!! I know, so not like Sony!!) etc, but I could be getting my dream mixed up with reality! Try a google search, you might see something like this:

On the other hand bridge cameras have really come down in price in last few years - from the nearly €800 that you might have paid for that 717 in 2003 to around €300 for latest models with all bells and whistles!

Typical, isn't it?! :D I would say give them a ring anyway, its only a month off such a large period.

Now if thats not the best rationalisation I've ever heard to get an SLR...

Seriously tho sorry to hear that Ginger.

Well the original thinking was that, well I have a decent camera, may as well keep going with that..

Now I dont have a decent camera any more so...

Time to go searching.. decisions decisions
