...if you seach in any major search engine for Airsoft, this forum is gonna appear near the top of the list. The public whose support we are trying to win IS reading this forum and what we post will affect their view on our sport. So please be nice, hold off on the insults and don't make any jibes about 'ignorant members of the public'. Stick to facts, and make your posts as calm and friendly as possible. We don't want to come across as short-tempered, self-righteous nutcases with a persecution complex.

Some of the recent comments in the Joe Duffy Show thread don't show us in the best light.

I suck at writing, so I hope that came across ok.

Anyone done a search for airsoft on google.ie? This forum is the #3 result, and that's without specifying "pages from ireland"

Regularly check its status. And honestly, its a public forum with anonymous, aliased posting. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxx ;)

i wouldnt be worried about the ability to track a boards alias back to a single person, but the overall view of the community at large

Do the political forums or the spiritual forums represent Socialists and Catholics as a majority in ireland?

No, they dont. Its a minor issue and in the end this battle will not be fought over boards it will be fought in the legislature.

While I agree that some comments are a little over board (selling peg guns, use of airsofts for illegal activities, shooting crows etc) there is also such a thing as fair comment, especially where the likes of celebrities are concerned.

No, the political and spiritual forums do not, but boards.ie is home to the most popular airsoft forum in Ireland and is therefore representative of the majority of the community

off topic, but google has a fair idea where you are searching from anyway and tries to give you the pages with the 'highest rank'. Your location affects this ranks. The 'pages from ireland' only grabs pages that are hosted by companies with servers in ireland.

Back on topic. On that note, if people are finding this forum easy via searching, how do the stickies reflect the general information regarding paintball and airsoft lately? Can we combine some into:

Basic Info on airsoft and legal issues
    IAA info

Basic info on paintball and legal issues
    IPPA Info
(include a the joule limit stuff in each)

    Pictures / Videos onf airsoft/paintball

Actually it might be worth changing the Newbie thread since most new people seem to ignore it. Perhaps something like the above suggestion is appropriate.

i'm well aware of that, hence why i said google.ie and not google.com, on google.com we're not even in the top 100
