Is this correct, seems very low for the team. If it is meant to be a team event. Why not just have a normal f/o. If there is 15 teams, 6000 prize money. 15% for winning team = 900/8 = 112.50 each member???

I have to agree with this. Does it also mean that you only pay 1 team and 2nd and 3rd get nothing? I'd be thinkin along the lines of 45% to winning team, 25% to 2nd and 30% split between final table as a bonus but i really think you should put more empahises on the team end Nick

    Good Luck with it.

Looks good Nick. It makes the team event more interesting and gives players something to hang around for should they get knocked out. If you left it as originally planned, with only 1 winning team, and only 15% of the prizepool, i reckon too many players would head home as soon as they got knocked out.

At least with 2 prizes in the team event, hopefully there'l be 5 or 6 teams in with a shout when it comes to the final table. You'd get a few hanging around, and hopefully fill up the evening freezout you have planned.

I'm going to try and get a team for this, if not i'll just bunk onto someone elses team thats short a player. See you next Sunday Nick

I prefer the first structure myself Nick with €1,000 for first place and 40 % to winning team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

I'd prefer it split 50/50 between team(s) and individuals - as you know there will be different standard of teams and if your team has no chance of cashing, playing all day and coming 5th for a €100 is a total waste of time for the individual.

Maybe you could maybe increase the buyin a little bit?

Didnt happen Anto. Didnt help us that we had to drag in a couple of last minute signups as they were registering because we were short players. Good turnout for Nick but the standard was abysmal. Some shocking play lol

only 3 of our team made the points and Dan still going strong last i heard. Good luck to him

yeah tell me about it some of them could of played with there hands showing it was so obvious what they had but they still hit ther 3,2 and 1 outers. boards will need to assemble a crack team or two for next one.

Came 2nd in this for 700....final hand was 88 v K3 board came xKK38! so technically i lost with a boat h/u!!! given the nature of the event i thought it was a very enjoyable day, lost 3 major pots on FT and luckboxed my way back into contention a couple of times. Lost huge pot KK v AJ 3 handed, and 9 handed was involved in a hand i might post about - basically had J3 soooooooooted sb, on a JJ54 board and was faced with a tricky decision (bet 35k turn, guy shoves for 200k, i had 250k). I might discuss it later but i called and he had 44....

Never been to a Vegas Nights game, but can safely say i'd go back again for a team event like this, good craic - standard wasn't so hot (although my 1st table was very good!).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Flushdraw

Good stuff Dan..I dont suppose it was enough to secure us team victory \o/

Pity none of the rest of us could give you a dig out. I think the fact you had a tough first table help you because you could actually play cards at it.

    Congrats again mate

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,538 ✭✭✭Requiem4adream

ha no team victory no, if half the team got past the 1st break we'd have had a chance ....or if we werent busy knocking team-mates out with 5 2o LOL :D I didnt know many on that 1st table, just Duke i think, but some decent players , was able to make some moves i simply couldnt make later against stations!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Flushdraw

Sicko....i come all this way and try to lead the team and my star player tries to double me up by calling my allin with 52o..needless to say the flop was Q52 and i'm sent packing lol. It was just one of them things Dan :D \\could have went either way but at least my chips helped you get 2nd :D

good to see you getting in the money.
Out in 46th, I never really got going, playing a shortstack the whole game.
Hit a set of 4s after the break to double up and made some steals where I could. Not sure if Nicola finished in the points?

Congratulations to Nick, JP and all the staff who ran a fine event unlike the standard of play:rolleyes: Some shocking carryon but thats the way of it I suppose. It was an all in fest at table 3 after the break and I had 5500 left after having my blinds riddled by all ins. The blinds had just gone 400/800 and the drunk leader who hit everything was on the button. So, UTG shoves for the umpteenth time for 3900 I look down at aq s and think its now or never and this is porbably my best flip so I reraise all in folded to the button who grimaces for a bit then after his buddy pleads with him not to, calls. The initial all in had AA th button has TT I have AQ. The flop comes with two clubs and a ten and I dont make my flush and the aces get cracked which was how it ended. Question is did I make the right play I figured I had no other choice or did I???

Well done on 2nd... It turned into a bit of a crapshoot after the 5,000-10,000 level! My 77 couldn't hold up against AJ...
I think the blinds should have been lengthend as it got closer to the final table cause there was still a load of players left in the 50 freezeout, so they weren't stuck for time. Could've got a bit more play out of it...

What team took it down in the end? Spawell??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,538 ✭✭✭Requiem4adream

Spawell won it , and The A-Team (celbridge) came 2nd. Was rooting for The A-Team, those crazy fools!!

I tried some team strategy early on when Tony shoved for 2k at 200/400, folds to me in bb and i look down at 5 2o. I had in my head that i would fold anything remotely likely to be ahead - and most def fold AA-KK or anything with paint on it. Had to try double him up, i knew 2 of us with chips would both survive and go deep on that table. 52 > A6 sooooooooted :(

It did get a bit crapshooty towards the end but i was actually against the blinds being slowed/frozen, i was pretty tired from a rough birthday session the night before - a blind freeze would prob have suited me too, more play against that field would be good for me, but i was happy to play it out.

I'll say it again, for the nature of the tournament, i think it's a great day out and would encourage more from Boards to play the next 1. Few pints (milk for me) and a lot of banter!

*Nicola came top 40 or 50 or so i think!!

I was in seat 4 on table 3. Where were u?

Definitely had a few, but hit everything? You obviously didn't see me get 3-outed twice for about 70,000 as we got down to two tables.
Thanks for the moniker though. I like it, I like it a lot.

Great day was had and many thanks to Nick. Hope he's put that close brush with bad language behind him. Can't wait for the New Year freezeout, we'll be on the minerals that day for sure!!

I would have guessed that was you to my right..one of only 2 or 3 at the table that had a grasp of how to play poker!

Yeah we were all in one corner! Sorry they were all in one corner! I was way out of my depth at that table! I need to add the check minraise bluff to my arsenal before i can call myself a real player :p
