P45 difficulties

I've been having major hassles getting my P45 from my former employer, I finished in May and was never issued my final wages (with holiday pay etc) and am still owed for comission (retail sadly), I've contacted the company many times and was eventually fobbed off, being told I was over paid and to basically leave it as that, since I'll owe them money. I know for definate I wasn't over paid, and have insisted on getting it, but it's beyond the stage of them replying to my emails or calls now. I contacted the revenue a few months ago and was told just to ask for it. At a loss now as I was emergency taxed in my new (much better) job and can't claim it until those clowns get things sorted? Is there any way of getting it sorted without having to involve legal costs?

Contact the Revenue again, state that you are on emergency tax in your new employment and that your previous employer is witholding your P45.

See here and here for more information. Revenue should have gotten one for you when you got in touch with them first time.

I had trouble getting my P45 from my last job. I went in to the nearest tax office, explained the situation to them and the woman I was talking to rang the company right there and two days later I had my P45 in the post. No company likes phone calls from Revenue and they can't fob them off.
