I know that they were quite active last year with games held every Wednesday in the canteen, but I haven't seen any this year yet.

It was run by a guy called Bob last year who is longer in the college. He ran it the year before that aswell. Games took place at 5pm in the canteen on a Wednesday and were usually over around 9/9.30. Last I heard he was selling yoga mats in Canada. I would be very interested in running/playing in this. Just don't have the cash to buy the cards, chips, dealer buttons etc.

Standard wasn't the best, plenty of mongs. Won it a few times so it shows. :D

Yes, it was founded by Bob and other people in his class. Bob went to Canada, and the others are currently in their 4th year and thus have no time to set it up

That might have been their own laptops though. As I recall, a lot of it was done out of their own pockets.

Yes it was and last year at the final game they gave away all the chips and stuff iirc. The computer i'm nearly 100% sure was their own. As they done programming in the college they probably just created that poker clock. Certianly don't have the cash to pay for it out of my own pocket that's for sure. Loans, overdrafts and guys coming to break my fingers and stuff.

If anyone is interested in poker they should just head into the Eglinton Casino and play in the €15 buy-in at 4.30 on Tuesday and Thursdays. Mong fest but that will probably be as close to poker as you'll get this year in the college.

Would anyone be intrested in helping me run the Poker competition if it launched? What should the buy-in be €5 or €10? format freezout or re-buy and just NL Hold 'Em?
