    hya's,

I finally caught up on my backlog of photo's, here's a few I took on Halloween night of some fireworks, the moon photo was taken back in September.
They were taken around Tara, so there was little light pollution, all of them have a 30 second exposure, which is wrong, I couldn't work out the bulb option in time so I'd click to start, then knock the camera off to close the shutter :D think the avg time was about 5-8 seconds.

I'm surprised that nobody else posted some fireworks shots ?

If anyone can't see these photo's add me as a contact in flickr.

I really like the fireworks pics in particular number 1 where you caught the 3 together.

I didn't really think things through until I got there, so I went for the lowest ISO possible, 100 for me and keeping the aperture down at f/4, the idea was to allow only really bright objects, so the background etc. would come out in black, the lens was set at 17mm (widest I have).

The "launchers" had some pvc tubes set up so they were setting off in the same direction each time, to focus on them I noticed that they were exploding above a hedge (great idea ) so I did a quick AF on the hedge, set it to manual focus and then add a little bit more to it to take into account the elevation.

I wanted to set the exp. time manually but I never worked out how the "bulb" function worked, so when they launched I triggered the camera on a 30 sec. shutter speed then when I thought it was about right I turned the camera off, which surprisingly worked :p

It was all random as I focused on an area where the "most" of them were exploding, I took 8 shots, the 4 you see on flickr the rest were out of focus, then they ran out of fireworks :(

In PS all I did was lower/raise levels to make the background black, then a bit of saturation and a linear curve.

oh sparklers, are pretty good, of course I only copped on to this just as this girl used the very last one
