"Process Development Engineer" (load of BS title that says nothing about what I do) in a high tech laser technology company. Most of us under the above title prefer the term "monkey worker", seems a bit more descriptive. :p

currently unemployed... as of december, i am not allowed to take any sort of 'permanant' job, but am hoping to get a job as a care assistant (preferably with the elderly, but im not overly fussy at the mo), and hope they'll keep me on here on a work visa :/

eternal student, doing my second masters at the moment. this time next year i will most likely be a worker drone at an IT company of indeterminate size. either that or I'll have gone the whole hog and started a PhD. or gone crawling back to my old job as a library assistant (they did let me go round with my tatts out the whole time which was pretty sound of them).
ah the boundless opportunities of youth.

Student by day and work in a Subway on evenings. They're very strict about jewellery in there, no earrings, no rings, no bracelets/watches etc., yet I'm allowed keep in my tongue bar, nose, rook and tragus! No customers ever complain either.

I've never had a customer mention my piercings in a negative way, although one grabbed my collar once and pulled it down and cried 'you have a piercing there??' (my neck). it freaked me out.

haha, i work with teh elderly usually, and most are absolutely fascinated by my piercings and that...there's been one or two id instinctively hide em from, but mostly they've been very interested, which is cool.

Every job I've had has ended up with co-worker seeing my tattoos outside of work and then telling everyone else I have them and getting me to show everyone I work with or trying to pull up/down my clothes themselves to show others. bastards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

my friend did that to me with her mam once. i kinda hit hard times and ended up practically living with this family, but wehn i got my ink, my mam kinda just rolled her eyes, and that was that, but my mate showed her mam, who was only short of giving me a bollockin herself... she kept goin on about how they're permanant and for life ... id to bite my tongue on mentioning so were marriages and children...

Just a warning, you're only allowed 1 facial piercing so be careful with that! It's in the appearance policy.
