Working in childcare

I'm qualified in montessori teaching which i loved studing and finished studing last year. when i finished i wanted to study childcare part time but decided to defer doing the course for a year or two (because of finiancial reasons) until i have my own transport.

I have been asked by a lady i know to care for her a baby with very special needs (so rare that only nurses would have studied about this) in a creche. I wanted to help and i agreed. Its only after that i agreed that i realised that i only have montessori behind me and not childcare, and its something this lady said that made me aware that shes confusing montessori with childcare, and now i'm worried in that a problem might arise in the creche when it comes to my meeting with them. Regardless of what kind of papers that i have i feel vey confident that i can care for the baby.

I need advice please. Can montessori teachers work in childcare (at some sort of a junior level or something). I will be studying a distance learning childcare course (not fetac awarded) to gain more knowledge. Then next september i hope to study part time.
