Going to put myself back on the market for a part time job!.

Anyone worked in the above place?. What were the conditions like?, is there good team spirit. What I would worry about is that the flourescent like lighting will induce head aches all the time.

I`m looking into getting extra work over Christmas, where else would be good. Would be willing to do eve and new years.

I`ve worked in shops before just want to get opinions on general places.

Dunnes Stores is like a rite of passage. I think everyones worked there at one time or another.

It is what you make of it. You're treated like you're worth nothing, but you can have some good crack with the other lads and some of the junior managers.

Wouldn't look at it as being anything more than a stop gap myself.... but each to their own. Some people are happy with it and like what they're doing.

As the other poster says depends where you're working, what you're doing, what your hours are etc.

My advice - if it's a Christmas job get a job in carphone warehouse or something where you can earn heaps of commission while dealing with cranky people! :D

hated the place, left at the end of the summer spent a whole year there in the deli. 7 o clock starts, right pain. handy tho finished at 4 and was home by half missed the traffic. i belive the new contracts are giving €9.11 per hour or close enuf to it. the only think it they only pay for 37.5 hours a week so no over time coming up to x mas with them
