    Hi ladies,

I'm married well over a year now but am only now getting around to changing my name. I'm actually planning to do it as a surprize for himself for christmas....any suggestions about how to go about it??

Also we've just booked a holiday under my old name - will I have to pay for a change of name on the flights next year?

    Any advice would be great!

    Hi sbk,

You'll need to send off to the General Register Office in Roscommon for a copy of your marriage cert, this is the form you need to fill out

    http://www.groireland.ie/docs/Application%20for%20Marriage%20Certificate%20revised.pdf

You'll have to send off for a new passport when changing your name with them so you may be as well off leaving that until after your holidays in case there's any delays in getting your passport back. If you've loads of time and REALLY want to be Mrs x going on holidays then go for it but most airline/travel companies will charge for changing the details and I wouldn't risk travelling with a Mrs x passport and a Miss y ticket.
