I really think the 1500 game will suffer due to the 500 game on Saturday. Was thinking about playing the 1500 game, but if you make it to day2, you miss the 500 game. Think the 500 game will get 80 odd runners too. Still cant make up my mind, if I thought the 1500 game would get 60+runners I would play it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,071 ✭✭✭Jayminator

Deffo dont think the €1500 will get 60+ Ollie honestly. i know a couple of lads are heading in tonight just to take a look and if less than 40 players they aint playing.

You any idea of stacks & structure for the 500 game by any chance

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

500 game is 10k with a 45 min clock I think, and the same blind structure as the main event. I am not 100% on that though, but I thnik that is what Nic posted on another thread.

I'm going to play the 500 game. I was in 2 minds about the 1500 game but it's just too much moneyesp with Waterford next weekend as well.
Personally I think the 1500 will struggle to get more than 40 max.
The 500 game is better value imo with a very good structure. I think it'll get 60+. Looking forward to it.

What time does it kick off actually?

It was initially a 30 min clock. It is now a 45 min clock.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Ya, I should really have read past the first post that mentioned it. Here is Nic's last, most reliable quote on the 500 game. Sorry Fitz.
the 500 game is pretty much the same structure but on a 45 minute clock not 1 hour and 15 min break after every 3 levels.

I will clean up the thread to get rid of the confusion I created. It starts at 8 tomorrow officially.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,070 ✭✭✭Ollieboy

thats it. I dont see the 1500 game getting a good field, so I'm going to play the 500 tomorrow. So beer tonight.

hmmm.... maybe - is the 500 game a two day event or a one day... couldn't find the thread that nic did

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 970 ✭✭✭thechamp87

    i think 2 days

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

2 days, unless there are few enough runners to finish it tonight and everyone agrees I'd say.

I'll be kicked out of the house if I attempt to mention going to this...Roll on Waterford!

just in the door. absolutely gutted. after a bad start i really knuckled down and played good poker. got moved table and was card dead for hours but picked spots well. Was on 8k forever until the 300/600 level and was down to 5k at onne stage.

I was very patient and as i said picked my spots well. got my stack up to 30k by the 400/800 level. then disaster struck. pat storan lost a few chips to jay and raised the very next hand. i put him all in will AJd for a 35k pot. he said "this is a bad call but sure anyway". he had A10 and obviously he hit a 10. this pot would have given me a stack of c. 48k and the blinds were still at 400/800.

this crippled me and i pushed my last 12k with AJ v 99. Flop AJ9. ffs.

Absolutely gutted as i played really good, patient poker and got fcked in return.

Surprised at the turnout for this, only 42 players!

Was a good workout for Waterford, I have not been playing much live and happy enough with how the night went. Probably could have got away from my exit hand which was a bit yucky reraising all in on a QQ4 flop with AK knowing there is a good chance guy has AA/KK and probably would not fold.

Very good structure coupled with some very bad play by a lot of players. As I left there was an 80k pot all in preflop AK vs AQ with blinds at 200/400 + 50 ! I got doubled up early when a guy 3 bet me all in on a J82 flop, he had KJ, I had 22 :)

NIcky Power, Jay, Ollie, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Dave Doyle & Mick McCloskey all still in when I left.

All of the above true and hard luck Adam. Your patience did merit a lot of reward. Pat dogged Eamonns QQ vs JJ AIPF by spiking a J on the flop so he was running well.
Nothing you can do man and yes you played some very nice cards. Pat also rivered a higher house on me in a hand and i still paid him off when it was blatantly obvious...meh tut tut.

Anyhow we're back at 6.30 tonight and I ve had 3 hours sleep... I ll text some updates to botomfeeder to post as the FT progresses.

going back with 12600 but blinds still on 800/400 100 ante. Very tough day for me and I had to make my own arrangements to get chips. Also had terrible seat position and every raise preflop was either call or cut-off by a reraise from a very aggressive table all day.

Even at the final table, I've the two biggest stacks to my left and 2 further big stacks to my right.lol. But should work out to my advantage.

    GL to everyone left.

And Pat, your such a fish....lol

yeh I went out in 8th, Jay made is usual raise on the button, I found Ajos with 22k stack and push, would have beaten Jay, but Big John found QQ in the BB and with 9 outs on the river I miss them all and it was goodnite.

AAAgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh I cant believe how badly i played on this final table. £ hours sleep never helps with judgment and stuff but nobody else to blame but myself. I was shocking and put no thought whatsoever into a game plan and any hands.

I had to fold a raise to 1 of Ollie's pushes and then had to fold my second raise into Ollie'spush when I was deffo calling before Big John announced all in. He had me covered so I laid it down. Suffice to say if John did nt push I was deffo calling Ollie and to make it clear I WAS ahead of Ollie pre flop.

I then put a raise into a bet from Big John in another pot on a Q high board and he re raises me all in. He aint ever laying down his hand and I should of raised pre flop anyhow.

This hand tilted me something terrible and I was gone the next couple of hands. SOOOOOOOOOOOO so badly I raise OOP with K10 suited, flat called in 2 spots by Kevin and Gavin in the BB. Flop K 7 5 (i think) with 2 diamonds. I push my chips in the middle without thinking of pot size, other players hands etc etc etc. I then became a tell box when Kevin was thinking about my all in and I know myself what I done to let him know he was a country mile ahead and he called. His AK was good. It was nt a quick call for Kevin either as we had roughly the same in chips so it was nt an insta call for him.

If anybody wants to know how to dump 70K in chips 7 handed with blinds @ 600/1200 100 ante then come see me. Embarrassing and a side of my game I thought I did nt suffer from.

Well done Pat and Kevin. I did predict that them 2 would play it off HU after I went out. Pat was playing quite aggressively for the hour I was there coming over the top of raises 3 times in the hour and people folding to him so well played Pat.

I was absolutely sick after blowing so much chips in 2 weekends in a row when i blew the chip lead in the EPT 1K event with 13 left and then again yesterday on the FT. AAAAAAAAgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

WP Pat again and sure ya had to win it cos after petrol expenses from the 2 drives up and down and your number 1 supporter Nicky P's cut ya probablt just broke even lol. Wp again.

    yea thanks -

soo tired in the end of it and sick... - playing 3 handed, blinds 800/1500, i make it 6K on the button with 66, chipleader(tony) raises to 12K, bernie goes all in for 25000.. so i decided to fold, guy calls, he has KK, bernie has AK... flop A64... so sick... after that hand everything went bad for me...

ended up pushing with A10s.. and ran into tony's AA..

then when it was headsup - tony got AK, and bernie had AA - flop comes down A high - money goes all in, bernie doubles up and then they split it....
