    Hi,
I am on a good diet at the moment and am eating aroung 4k calories. I am also doing the rippetoe starting strength program.

I find that I am constantly needing to stretch though. They are serious stretches also. Is this normal?

Make sure you are quite warm before stretching, otherwise you could pull a muscle.also, your muscles will just stiffen if your not warm enough...i usually put on a hoodie for a few mins then stretch,or do some streches with hoodie on to get warm.....

I'm constantly doing it right through the day. It's not formal stretching so to speak. It's just while i'm working away at work etc. Like ive just got up in the morning or something.

Certainly not a bad idea if you're sitting down on all day, get some stretches in for your hip flexors and abs anyway (though you might look weird, meh)

get a massage from physical therapist and you are going to be stiff from weight training if you are training often. on off days do some cardio to loosen up and plenty of foam rolling

Are you tired? Dehydrated? These things generally make me stiff. Just a thought.

You have to stretch? As in your muscles seize up and you have to stretch them out? Sounds like dehydration to me, electrolyytes and water should clear that up.
