In the New Year I will be starting a tour of between 12-18 venues across Ireland to help promote the Irish Masters which I will be running on the May bank holiday weekend.

I ideally would like to run these games in card rooms / casinos, but will use hotels etc.
The Tour games will all be €100 & Reg (reg will depend on the venue costs but no more than €20) with 1 rebuy or top up at €50.

There will be a Guaranteed Prize Pool of €5000 at all games with the winner receiving a ticket to the main event at the Irish Masters worth €1500 plus €1000 in cash and 2nd and 3rd receiving a €150 to our super satellite as part of their prize.

I am looking for towns and cities that people think this would be a success in I would also be very interested on any feedback regarding the Tour or indeed the Irish Masters.

Any card room / casino manager that would be interested in hosting one of these games please pm me or reply in this thread.

    Hi JP,

I dont know if its possible at this stage, but I think you'll get more direct buy-ins if the event is a 1k instead of 1500.

The Westbury is opened back up in Malahide JP.....They have opened up a big car park at the back now too so it will be well worth running a tournament in.

    Hi Stephen,

I was speaking to Andrew a few weeks ago. I'll probably try run a few there.

    Thanks

    Hi Ollie,

It wouldn't be impossible, only one person has won a ticket so far so i could refund him the difference.

I might start a poll on it and get people views. Probably a smart idea considering the amount of big buy in tournaments these days.

JP if he gets €500 I'll be sorely vexed, as I'll never hear the end of it :)

do some business with the fitz, chl, the SE and the jackpot. i remember playing a few GJP sats in the jackpot , 40 e games with first getting a ticket and some cash for 2nd or 3rd. you'd get alot of fishy low bankrolled types like myself trying these all over the city!

for a 1000 buy in game alot of people think "yea, i could win a 50e tournament to win 1k" but for whatever reason its not the same for 1500..

Agree with that....If you take it that say €50 entry will be the standard buy-in for the sats then a 1 in 20 sat is much more appealing than a 1 in 30 satellite, imo.

Hi JP. The Cue Club In Killarney would be delighted to help here by hosting one of your proposed Satts. PM me or ring me if yor interested.

FWIW, my belief is that tournament organisers in Ireland are mistakingly thinking that bigger is better. On a different scale, you can see what happened to the EPT in Dublin with the hyped up entry fee, well I feel tourneys have to reflect the punters buy-in power. I'd suggest you keep your buy-in at €1000. A lot of people still wont pay that much, but at least you'll qualify more than you would at €1,500.

    My 2c anyway

    Connie.

    Hi Connie,

Thanks for the offer. I was planning on having a game down that direction, the Cue Club would be ideal. I'll have a chat with you next week in Waterford.
