Howdy all. I'm connectged to t'internet with my 3 Modem, all working fine. I have the network cable plugged into the PS3 and into my laptop, but, i'm now lost as to what to do. When i check the settings on the PS3 it gives me all the IP address' and all the information as if i'm connected, but it won't connect, keeps saying i'm not connected.

I've a feeling i need to do something with the LAN, but i'm not good at that. And i have internet connection sharing allowed on my 3 modem.

    Can anyone help?

Never mind, just talked to a polaystation guy (very helpful chat service by the way) and they said that the PS3 doesn't support USB Modems... Ah well.

You could probably use your laptop as an Internet Gateway and then have the PS3 go through that. I've only done it once and it was from 1 machine to a laptop on dialup.

When you enable Internet Connection Sharing on the Laptop it gives the machine an IP address of something like 192.168.0.x
If you hook your laptop into a router and the PS3 into a router, then configure the PS3 to a static IP in the range of 192.168.0.x, set the DNS and Default gateway to the laptop IP it might work. I'm not sure how the 3 modem works so Internet connection sharing may only work with dialup

    Have a look at this.
Or just search for - PS3 internet connect usb modem - you'll find lots of info on how to get this to work.
