Rid pc of running lots of programmes at startup?

    As the title suggests I want to stop some programmes at startup.

    There should be something in the options menu, a check box that stops the program from running at start up.

    E.g. Skype

    Tools -> Options -> Start Skype When I start Windows

    Uncheck this box

    Click start .. click run.. type msconfig

    Click the startup tab and uncheck the prgrams you dont want to run at startup. Click Apply and click ok..

    Job done.. restart to test

    there are loads of things at startup you may not need. MSconfig only shows some:

    www.silentrunners.org

    You may also have services you don't need.

    You can get the used RAM down to 90M on XP.
