A recent thread from Macspower shocked me with the amount of hands played in a few days. I'm pretty sure I play less than average but roughly how many hands do you play per month. Lets say cash hands only so as not to get confused. Polls are in vogue lol

I'm looking to play on average 15k a month. This looks very much on target for this month however in the past I have never played so many hands but that said i've never played poker on a semi serious basis before.

I played 60k one month, and it's an experience i would never like to repeat. 30k is about a normal month.

On average this year I would say I have played 300 hands per month online.

I think at present I'm probably playing in the region of 18000 hands a month. But i'd need to trawl through pt, pto and the tourneys to check all that.

I made a post recently on 2+2 where as part of a post about me going pro from semi-pro I mentioned that I envisaged playing about 6300 hands a week on average . I got some horrified replies, basically from guys who play 6 tables plus saying this was no where near enough for a full-time pro to be playing. It's got me radically thinking that maybe I need to step things up. Personally I struggle in cash games if I play more than 4 at a pop but I think I can manage more in sngs, so might concentrate on them or perhaps make a real effort to adjust my overall game and start playing more than 4 cash games at a time.

MY average is about 15k but I am really trying to get 20k+ this month.
I don't play anywhere near as much as I like but I don't go beyond 4 tables and more often then not lose my way after 2 hours so have to stop playing.
Some of the numbers that people post on 2+2 are scary.
Still I rather 15k then be a fgators

I played 29k in September and 35k in October. I think I'm lazy and don't play nearly enough: I'm surprised there aren't more people who take it seriously playing 30k+ hands per month.

what degenerate hit the 70k button?

this year i've been insanely lazy and have probably played about 10k hands,if that, most months.

however in october i played about 40k including a full week off and it was grand,if i can get into the routine i don't see any reason not to keep up at least 50k/month.

since i started being more disciplined about table selecting across 3 different levels i've found it a lot easier to get the hands in since i am always playing good games and am therefore less likely to get frustrated.

In saying this, the rate of hands ipoker does compared to say stars is much less.
I find it much much easier to get 30k hands on stars, funny considering it seemed quicker when I first switched over

I don't really get this, if iPoker deals slower then you should be able to manage more tables there.

I use a laptop and have overlap on all 4 as it is. Any more and it would really piss me off and be too awkward
Of course getting a desktop with 22 inch monitor would solve those issues but not going to happen anytime soon

I don't think so. iPoker software is so bad and if you use the popup in pahud, you cant use miniview so you need 200" monitors to 6 table. I looked back at when i used to play on stars and I probably got double the hands in and I only had a laptop at the time. I now have a monitor that I hook up to the laptop as well. And with all the other problems ipoker has(connection issues, software is absolutely terrible, games going to ****, etc); I can't wait til I move site.
