You can either plug the "photocopier" :D (it's a printer/photocopier/scanner/thingie i'm guessing) directly into a wireless hub if it has a network port (look for a telephone adapter thing just a bit larger). Or you can get/if it doesnt have it allready a wifi card that plugs directly into the "photocopier":D.

    Google your "photocopier" :D

Edit: One more option is to plug the "photocopier" directly into a PC and share it out as a "network photocopier" :D

I will look tonmorrow.I did googel it, I honestly dont know why as it didnt make sence either.
    thanks for ther help,

Is this for work? If so, what the hell are your IT department playing at ? They should already know all this.

Also if your copier thingy (RICOH) is near to your internet thingy (Adsl router I presume) (The thing your computers connect to in order to reach the internet) you can connect it by cable and then you can photo copy (Print and scan) from your wireless connected computers.

If all the computers in a office are wireless they don't have any expert IT support.

Yea a bunch of people probably connected to an eircom or other isp adsl modem using the defualt channel, security and SSID. Same in lots of offices.

To be really really really honest, !!I am the IT department. The office is used for mainly voluntery groups. So we have the group for looking after children with ADD/ADHD and Autism.
We got replacement computers as a gift after the one we had was robbed. We got Boradband in, yep eircom and connected it fine, with the belink wire free thingys.
We would love to print off things now, but as per above post, can connect to the photocopier. We dont have €€€€€ to spend on getting a person out so we are trying to fix it ourselfs first.Which you can see we are having a little difficulty with.
But your posts have really helped and I know now to connect it via a cabel

Also if your copier thingy (RICOH) is near to your internet thingy (Adsl router I presume) (The thing your computers connect to in order to reach the internet) you can connect it by cable and then you can photo copy (Print and scan) from your wireless connected computersSo do I connect the photocopiers to the Intrernet box.Is it a telephone cable type thing that I need.I so know how blond I am .....but forgive me.I am great re ADD/ADHD ASD not so good with photcopiers.Computers ok...not to bad.anyway, thanks all.

Have you have you thought of placing an advert on Volunteering Ireland? You may be able to get somebody to come around on an ad hoc basis to help with these sort of things.

I'm not saying you will not figure it out yourself with help here but the whole thing might go a lot faster if you were able to get somebody in who was familiar with the "thingies"

Ah your not that blonde you found your way to boards.ie and posted your question in the correct place besides I understand where your coming from my sister is a Cathy too.

OK so the internet box is close by the RICOH multifunction copier.

The connections on the internet box are similar to telephone connection but wider. The connection is called RJ45 (A telephone connection is called RJ11) So you need a Cat5 patch cable to connect between your RICOH and internet box (Called a DSL modem). Did you set up the Eircom broadband yourself? In the box the modem was delivered in you should have a couple of Cat5 cables (The Eircom cables are yellow). If you can't find any you can get them cheap in a PC World. Peats, Maplin etc.

You will find a connection on the RICOH which fits the RJ45 connection possibly labled as lan or with a picture of three small boxes connected to a line by small lines. Perhaps the manual for the RICOH is around look for network connection in it.

When you have the RICOH connected to your internet box you will need to install a driver on the computers so that they can print to it:

    RICOH Drivers

Try this much and let us know how it goes, it is possible that geting this to work may require that a static IP is assigned to the RICOH and im not familiar with the device but could work it out from the manual.
