Ok, so I have read through all the stickies, and I now know how much calories I need, how much protein is right, when not to eat carbs....and I have stocked up on my tuna, chicken, veg, fruits and even some whey protein for after my workout...I feel good mentally and Im full of enthusiasum

So, problem is - what order do I put all this stuff together.....

Whey protein shake before or after the workout ? If I work out in the morning, and I have the shake after, do I eat my organic muesli before the workout or after ??

If I workout at night, when do I take the shake and/or carbs ??

Help ! Its the last piece of my fitness jigsaw

I always work out in the morning so have some muesli mixed into natural yogurt and some toast first thing, followed by a protein and creatine shake. After the workout, I have a RAM shake with creatine and some glucose, and then I take another protein shake at around 6pm.

I couldn't really tell you what order to take them in the evening though but I believe I'm taking them in the correct order for a morning workout.

Whey protein shake after the workout with plenty of glucose is the most important thing. There's tonnes of literature about this and discussion on this site. Look for PWO shake for more info.

Protein: 1g per ib bodyweight is probably the most popular guideline, though opinions differ. If you are training hard and regularly 1g per ib is fine.

When to avoid carbs: Depends what you are trying to achieve. If you are not concerned about maintaining a very low bodyfat, or about losing excess bodyfat, there is no reason to avoid carbs in my opinion. It is a good idea in general to avoid too many simple/processed carbs however - for general health reasons even if you are not concerned about fitness.
