Any idea how to sort delivery issue?

In the last five weeks I have ordered 3 things online on 3 seperate occasions ,two from one website but on seperate days and one from another site .However none of these have been delivered to me. Both sites I ordered from were UK highstreet online shops and were due to be deliverd within a 3day period by Royal Mail Post .I'm assured they were all dispatched. Obviously I thought three days was ambitious but 3weeks and longer seems along time to wait for something.

I rang today to complain about the non delivery and I could sense some level of suspicion in the girl I spoke to when I told her I had not recieved two packages from her company both of which were sent seperately.

Then I rang about the other package and I was put through to the same girl in the same call centre as it turns out they operate the customer service for several UK highstreet online shops.Imagine my delight! She said they had recieved no other complaint about Irish deliveries but couldn't track Irish packages although she was sure they arrive within 3days of ordering. She said it sounded like the problem was with things being delivered specifically to me and suggested that I try to "follow it up" on my side and then get back to them to "see if it was possible" to sort out a refund.

Now the thing is I have no real idea how to go about following it up on my side. Is there any point in ringing random courier companies and An Post with no valid tracking number? Has anyone had any success with something like this in the past ?

Not really. You could ring your local An Post delivery depot to see if they have anything for you there. Check the number in the phone book. Normally a failed delivery will result in a note through the door though.

Without a tracking number there's pretty much nothing that can be done to find them. You can submit a complaint to An Post about missing packages, but since you don't know if they even left the UK that's probably a dead end. Also, it'd be pretty much a dead end anyway as they have no real way to track or find lost parcels. Needle in a haystack kind of thing.

If the companies in question are not giving a refund or replacement then contact your credit card provider and see about getting a chargeback. Explain the situation to them and see if they'll help.

    Thanks Jor El
I rang An Post today and the guy I spoke to rang around for me on the off chance my stuff could be located. He was very helpful actually. Ultimately however it was a lost cause.
He said alot of people who buy stuff online and who don't recieve their goods are being told to try and check it out themselves etc and being given the run around by companies trying to pass time until the date after which claims for non delivery can be refunded is no longer valid. It's usually 30 days. He said he'd heard it alot lately so heads up to anyone waiting on something. If a parcel hasn't arrived from the within 10 working days it's time to start badgering for a refund regardless of what they tell you and always be conscious of the date after which you can no longer claim for non delivery.

I'm having this issue at the moment with a US based retailer. They claim to have posted it, I never received it and months (yes months - I purchased in August) I have initiated a chargeback with my credit card company. Now when I click on the site my invoice or order number is not recognised. Hopefully the CC company will be able to chargeback, the 38 or so euros.
