This site has been mentioned on a few threads on this forum and i must say that it offers excellent value for all sorts of gadgets, check out the green lasers especially they 1re about €15 and are powerful enough to shine a visible beam onto a star and pop baloons feet away.

the real point of the thread is to ask what other good online shops are out there to exploit the week us dollar.

Do you know what wavelength the Green lasers operate at?

Do you know what wavelength the Green lasers operate at?

Their top green laser is 200mW and contains a Samsung class 3B laser chip. They decrease is power then down to 5mW.

I believe there wavelength is 532 nm. I think all these type of green lasers are.
In comparison to red lasers which are 650 nm, so the green are superior.

Im not messing when I ask this I genuinely want to know.

What would happen if you shone the laser in somone's eye from inches away?
I'm almost scared to think what would happen if I bought this :D

I just bought an R4 card from them for a DS Lite, ordered on the 26th October, delivered today, excellent service.

They are pretty poor for normal post, what i would do is buy one item at a time. If there is something you need then get that on its own via EMS.

The smaller packages seem to ship quicker. If your buying alot of stuff do not upgrade to EMS shipping. What they did with me was send 11 items via EMS, then the item I wanted via EMS came in normal post like 3 weeks later.

But in saying that dealextreme are excellent, especially because they package items as gifts meaning you dont have to pay VAT.

Another good site is www.sourcinggate.com. Just bought a phone,Seriously the best phone EVER! delivered in 3 days but had to pay VAT.

Why do you say that theyre superior? I'm just looking for a cheap pump laser for an experiment I'm doing and I reckon I could pigtail a fiber to one pretty easily but its 6nm longer than I need. I'm also looking for an 810nm device, and most of these green lasers have 808nm pumps. How likely would it be that I could couple light from the pump stage or are there too many depositions on the facets?

I'm getting interested in that phone site too. Any word?

postage is slow, please pay more for faster shipping, think its just 5 euros more.

I've no idea if that would work I'm afraid.

Does anyone know if these green lasers are Illegal here or anything?

Just looking at that site. It seems a lot of the phones there seem to be them Chinese knock offs that are floating around. well the ones that say CECT anyway.

i doubt it i'm involved in a nightclub and the laser we have is rated at 230, thats a green and red laser. there in pubs and clubs everywhere so really doubt it

I bought the icool C92 dual sim
Its a beautiful looking fone and has great feautures. Most importantly both sims working at the same time. The only prob is the price of postage was $46 and VAT was €36. In total the phone cost me €186 but it was worth it becuase the phone is excellent.
But if I was buying another phone I would buy the CECT T689 because its the same OS but the buttons are in the same order as other phones which means txting is easier. But you can also txt with the touchscreen so im still delighted with it.
Its absolutely not a rip off site.
    Cheers
    John

Now where did you hear that, some of the best available are rated for a few miles, if pointed directly up they couldnt even begin to travel outside the atmosphere let alone on a star.

Astronomical pointers are used for line of site only, either for telescope aiming or pointing one at an intended target, the operator can show an additional observer(s) where to look based on where the beam starts and where the beam isnt visible anymore. Green is used because you can't see a red beam (which has a much longer wavelength and therefor isnt scattered as much as the shorter green wavelength, which makes green beams a lot more visible) unless it hits its target and is within visible range.

You can get lasers with 300mW ouputs for less than €200, id consider them a bit dangerous though

I've used DX several times and had no problems with them what so ever. Their forums are great as you can recommend products for them to sell and they will see if they can get them or not. Also user reviews of the items being sold are pretty good too.
The green lasers in question are cheaper than usual as they are knockoff's with no filters on them to block harmful IR rays (I think) from damaging your eyes.
Other than that I highly recommmend the site!
