you could try www.musicstore.com. i ordered something items off them a few weeks ago and it arrived mayb 10 days later. I also ordered a big enough order about 2 weeks now and am still waiting for an e mail telling me when the gear would arrive:mad:. I have never used thomann(for no reason inparticular).

You could take a look at www.dolphinmusic.co.uk

I bought an amp from them, and while there was a fault with it they replaced it quickly and kept me informed ( twice by phone ) all along.

With these online music stores it's pure luck wheather your order goes smoothly or not. I had a bad experience with "musicstore.com" and found communication was not their strong point. However, others here have said they were good. As I said, it's the luck of the draw.

http://www.247guitar.com/ is worth a look. I bought some small items from them and they were out in a couple of days.

done loads of stuff with Thomann - never had a bad experience. Agree with the 'luck o the draw' point with online retailing in general and unfortunately any large 'faceless' corpo like these in this day and age is likely to have unsatisfactory after sales service, its horrible really - the 'gimme yer money and get stuffed' attitude...the times we live in. But great savings to be made online...havent a clue how high street retailers are paying the rent these days...

has anyone done anything with Samash? (www.samash.com) - I have someone in the US who is coming for xmas who I could deliver it to, the dollar is so weak at the moment the prices are feckin crazy - get speculating!

I purchased a Marshall from them, the following day I had an email saying it would take 3 months to arrive from their suppliers. Totally useless. Beware of sites that advertise products they do not have in stock, a lot of them do!

Yeah, but try returing a faulty item to them - its near impossible
