My understanding of it is that if its a dummy grenade, eg; not deactivated and never intended to blow up, there is nothing illegal about it.

sounds about right, if its just a dummy then it's basically just a lump of metal

They are fake why would they be illegal?

But why would you want them?
Get the bb holder/gas canister shaped one.

if you had access to a lathe you could always try making one?
i made one in collage a few years ago but i wasnt into airsoft at the time so i didnt keep it. not too hard to do and it looked okay.

Not for sale. They are real deactivated grenades and deactivated and blank firing replicas then across the table.

are blank firing replicas classed as illegal here then? i knew they were real live at one time but didnt think they would be illegal if they were deactivated.,

I thought they would been perfectly legal., (the granades at least).,
I thought i saw one of those BB bottles on here that someone painted with krylon paint and it looked pretty decent.,

Saw and drooled over the de-activated bits and bobs at the RDS today.
You don't need a license for these but as far as I know you need a letter
of permission from the Local Super to have/own one.

Saw an FN and Bren and Gustaf all of which have a special place
in my heart having used them. The de-acts there today were
    in very poor condition.

That bren had some kick off it when you cocked it and then pulled the trigger. I am sooooo getting one (for airsoft) from shootnscoot in Aberdeen, once my account recovers from the Inokatsu and the CA M15A4 Tac. :D

yeah i tried that aswell, and to think that was WITHOUT a bullet, god only knows what it would be like in action., even to hold the thing up for a while was a challenge.,lol

Holding it was grand. It's surprisingly light, weighing in at an apparent 14 pounds.

As for the recoil, I imagine with a live round, it'd be something fierce.

maybe because i had to hold it on my bad side, its designed for right handers, even the site aperture cant be used if you hold it left handed coz they put if on the left side of the gun so you can see past the mag.,
Im gonna be heading to vietnam sometime soon and will be getting to play with all this stuff with live rounds aswell.,:D

As a teenager I was on overnight tactics where I had to lug one of these
about the place with a 77 set (Radio) on my back. After a bit of running I
I could barely lift my legs over fences etc It was exausting.

As for firing real-steel its a dream. I found very little recoil off it
compared to other stuff I have fired. Due to the way you hold it,
being prone and firing 3 round bursts. LOVELY.
Got a pic of me firing one in 1994 here:

    http://bullets2.tripod.com/Group.html

I'll shut of now as its veering towards real steel conversation
    which is frowned upon here.
