I think this is a joke. Am I wrong in this or should I just accept the fact that none involved can control this?

I withdrew some money from my account on PPP last week, the 28th Oct. I understood the bank holiday would throw the length of time it takes for the money to go into my bank account off and so it would take longer.

I still have not received the withdrawal. I was onto a PP manager last week and he told me the banks were the problem. I was onto the bank and they told me it was PP's problem.

I am currently talking to a PPmanager who tells me that the problem was that allwithdrawals to laser cards failed for the 27th and 28oct and they have NO TIME FRAME as to when these withdrawals will be pushed through?

Is this a joke or am I wrong in thinking that PP have their heads up their arses?

I blame their new Operations Manager for this

he is a well-known degenerate gambler and has probably scarpered to Vegas with the dough. Sorry, but your money is probably done in the craps pit or the $1000 slots at this stage...

Literally the exact same thing has happened to me. I got the same spiel about it being the banks fault so went and rang them to be told it was PP's fault. Now they say it was a problem for those dates and will be sorted in a day.......... im pessimistic to say the least.

A strongly worded email may land us a free bet.

Same happened here. Had a bet on the pool arsnel game(28th). Won 120quid withdrew it still hasn't come into my account. Rang PP last night and they said it was AIBs fault. Wonder when ill ever see that money....

Is is a joke. I was told there is no definitive timeframe for when they will have it sorted.

So I am to WAIT longer for a withdrawal.

Any time I ever deposit its done in a flash. Funny how it doesn't work the other way AT ALL. Typical!

Ahh this thread brings back lots of memories.

I used to work for an online gaming company that had a pretty big market share US/UK/Asia etc.. any way I was front line so when there was a problem like this I got the brunt of it. It's amazing how quick people turn nasty over money... see above post #10.

If PP say that there was a problem with withdrawals then whats the problem? Neither company are going to admit liability, PP will say its the bank and the bank will say its PP... thats how it works folks. Honest answer is probably neither of them knows!

All that should matter is that you get your money, and in fairness there is no question about it. You will get your money.

If it turns out the problem was with your bank and not PP would you be so quick to abandon your bank and bank somewhere else?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 423 ✭✭sitout

Can you not request a withdrawl online and then head to a betting shop to collect it?
You can do that with Boyle Sports anyway.

no you cant which is a big problem with pp tbh!
You can do this with boyles as you said and also ladbrookes not to mention the various irish eyes internet shops around the country! paddy power needs to take the finger out and stop treating his loyal customers like monkeys, the easier it is for a customer to get his money after a win the more they will continue to support that site! seems to me its like they are not intrested in the customer, as there are so many more who will replace the ones who leave disatisified!
i welcome the day when this blatent disregard for the day to day punter comes back to haunt this bunch of cowboys!

If my bank ever turned around and said to me, there's a problem with us giving you your money, I'd be gone that day!!! Would you not be??

And it isn't a case of once you get your money at some stage, sure isn't it grand, Stars, Full Tilt, Green Joker and most good sites process cashouts within 24 hours, and in some cases within an hour or so, competition my friend, is welcomed in my books.

If neither of them know, then what sort of morons are managing our money?? This kind of apathy just doesn't cut the mustard for me and I'm sure if PPP decide to reply to this thread, which they are usually very good at doing, they won't be coming on here saying anything along these lines.

EDIT: But let's calm down slightly people, I'm about 99.9999999 % certain everyone's money is safe and you'll all get it eventually, this post wasn't attempting to stoke the flames. so keep calm heads.

Well I firmly believe getting thick with the online support is pointless, I fully realise they have zero control over the situation but when I ask for an explaination, "i dont knows" dont suffice. They are paid to know.

Sitout was right to get annoyed and turn nasty. It was 4k. The size shouldnt matter but so frequently does.

People have a right to know where there money is. They pay rake for this right. They pay rake for the online support to know what is going on. They pay rake to have their money efficiently tranferred. It is someones fault.

Anyway, the manager informed me Paddy power were very sorry and will be issuing some sort of goodwill gesture to let customers know they realise their frustrations.

Ok folks, it appears that withdrawals to laser cards between 26th and 30th October have not been processed by our bank despite being sent as normal by our payment processing team.

It has been identified as a problem between BOI and Elavon Payment Services and not an error on the part of Paddy Power. It effects all Paddy Power customers and not just poker clients.

I will keep you updated with news as I hear it.

    Sitout,

Our first known issue relates to 26th October. I fear that your issue may not be related as on your say so it stretches back further than this. Can you please PM me the details (or your email addy and i will initiate contact) of your transaction and I will investigate it as a seperate issue as it would apper that there are no known issues stretching back this far and if they do exist I will need to ensure that they are investigated.

    Thanks,

    Noel Hayes.

Absolutly not. I left as soon as things started to get all muddled over the other side of the Atlantic and am glad I did! But just to give you peace of mind, I actually enjoyed my job... disgruntled customers included.

What I meant by my post is that when you contact customer support they will only know what has been told to them by their superiors, who only know what they have been told by their superiors. So the person you talk to really wont know for sure what the problem is and can only tell you so much. The main thing and most important thing they can tell you is that your money is safe.

When you ring your bank they will not say it is their problem as again you will be on to the frontline who dont know the ins and outs of the problem. You will probably be fobbed off there being told to contact the other party. Believe me, i've been there with withdrawals from Neteller!

As it has now come to light that the issue was a problem with BoI and not PP, where is all the beratement for Bank of Ireland that people were so quick to give out about Paddy Power? I demand satisfaction! Booo Bank of Ireland booo.

WOw thanks for the info here regarding PPowers, was on the brink of depositing $12,000 this weekend, but was uncertain regarding the withdrawls on the site, I know in the UK,last yr ,there was problem withdrawing funds, you bascially had to wait an extended period. Great to see this thread, just touching again with what someone said about Boyle Sports, Can you cash out of their high street shops? I do, however, really like the new interface on Paddy Power poker.
    Thnx

    Marty,

This is not an ongoing issue. This is a one off issue which only affected laser card withdrawals during the days outlined above.
