    Hi all,

I have a huge interest in the paranormal, however, unfortunately none of my friends or family do. I therefore have a hard time convincing anyone to come on any sort of investigation with me. Does anyone know if there are any planned events held around Dublin? Has anyone been to one? i'd love to attend one. I've wanted to explore Glasnevin Cemetary at night for ages but am too frightened (more so of the tramps and unsavouries) to do it on my own!

    thanks....

Oh I'd love to attend one, I've always had an unnatural interest in everything ghostly. I've had a few experiences, good and bad too. Please let me know if anything like this pops up again!

it'd be handy if there was some form of thread where groups could post up if they need new members etc. now in saying that Ive no idea how many paranormal research groups would post anything, but there sure seems to be a lot of people based in dublin who are interested in this sort of thing yet dont seem to have anyone to work with

Thats why the trips here were good because they were open to anyone and didnt need a set group.

Unfortunately I havent had the time to arrange any with baby number 2. That said I am working on some interesting projects that people should enjoy.

Me too - hadn't thought about the paranormal for years until I happened upon this forum - again, quite a few strange things happened to me while renting a house in College(No,not the usual Students+humdrum pranks involving traffic cones and the like-Where's Paul Calf when you need him?) - No,unexplained noises and knockings late at night/articles being moved for no explicable reason - so,if there's any investigations in the offing,I'm first on the bus...

    hi clare
i would recomened going on a trip with para research i wll give you an idea of what its all about ,its not like what you see on the tv ,there is a lot of work before and after, whats there is 1 hour tv but the real deal is going to a location at say 6 pm and leaving the next morning, when doing this there are a lot of experiments and technical stuff you have to learn before a group will invite you to join, its sad that there arent more groups in ireland but there is one out there for you ,why not talk to a few friends who share the same intrest as you and try to get somthing going yourself,
i know every one here will help you to acheive your goal and support you what ever you decide.here is a great place to find the ins and outs of investigations and equipment ,etc,
i think they should make a thread for people wanting to get involved with a group,i bet there are more in here than you think,

I'm in the same boat as you Clairecluck.I too am from Dublin and have a huge interest in the paranormal and have tried to get friends and family in on it with little success, they pretty much take a light hearted approach to it when i do convince them to join me on any investigation, though I have managed to get my girlfriend hooked on it and now she's my sidekick when it comes to ghost hunting and we spend any chance we have checking out as many haunted locations as possible. You can find a good list of haunted locations in Ireland on the Paranormal database website to help you.
It is very hard to find groups to join with as there's not that many out there and the ones that are can be very much technical based investigations.Having said though Haunted.ie are doing an open investigation at Blackwater castle that my g'friend and I are thinking of joining in with in november. We went with them before to Charleville Castle and really enjoyed it, its worth it if you can go.
    Happy Hunting

also make sure you have the right team,,,you dont want people going on investigations that hear a noise and run causing health and saftey issues ,
keep it small at first then when you get more experienced add new members down the road,,,,,,,,,.
always make sure everyone shares the load ,,,,,for reveiwing and history checks.give every body a job then after a few months change the jobs around that way if one of your team is sick you have someone else for the job.
i wish you the best of luck
    LOGIC BEFORE PARANORMAL;)
