Brilliant, it's finally kicking off (if only for a month, boo hoo)
Solid action, I can safely ignore the past 6 episodes, roll on next week!

    10/10.

Okay, that was good. Wow. The last 10 seconds were AMAZING!!!!

Agh, I need to process my thoughts.

    No Sylar though :(.

Finding out who Adam was, good plot twist. Thought Dl was back but I guess he's not, what now for Micah. There going for the good plot twists because its Noovember sweeps in the US.(important for NBC

Okay, I'm totally confused about Takeso/Adam. He's immortal AND he can control the weather?

He could be like Peter, or maybe all the time he was around he learned how to gain the new abilities.

Very good episode. He's going to kick Hiro's ass.

I figured these are both manifestations of his regenerative ability. Think about it; if all his cells regenerate, this effectively nullifies the effects of ageing. I figure that the same will eventually apply to Claire (Who knows, maybe there'll be a spin-off series set years down the line and she'll still look the same [or slightly bustier]). Also, I don't think he controls weather (although that's what I thought immediately upon seeing it). What he actually did was just let Peter's lightning hit him and channel into the earth, then the burned cells regenerated.

Anyway, thought this episode was great. Didn't go for the top rating as that's reserved for the likes of episode 18 last season! The various plots are coming together well, though I wonder how Peter/Adam, Sylar/Mexicans and Hiro/Ando will fit in. I can't wait to see what will happen with Bennett and if Mohinder can really go through with it (although Mendez seems to think he will at least!).

    Great Stuff

That was great! interesting plotlines & devious twist.
Did anyone see a green halo at the start of the ep or was that my pc?

    What will Mohinder do next?
Will we see BElle soon or not due to the writers strike?
& what are the Nov. sweeps?

Not all in that order! :D

Groin-grabbingly! who thought of that! :p

I think he was referring to Bob showing the Snow Storm in Florida headline to Nathan.

I think he was referring to Bob showing the Snow Storm in Florida headline to Nathan.

I presume Bob meant that because of Adam bringing the group together,a tsunami was averted,so perhaps someone else in that photo has the power to control the weather.

I thought it was very good at the end, loved how Kensi is Adam. That will be interesting! Finally we are away from the 1671 Japan and away from bad Irish accents. Hopefully Caitlin is gone for good, stuck in the future!

Matt is getting more powerful,2 more of the paintings happened,Nikki is screwed and Mohinder get his nose thingy so he is going to shoot someone.

Damn I hate "West",such an annoying turd. Claire is getting fairly whiny as well.

Looks like it is just starting to get good! :D

Was it not 3? Peter with the biohazard symbol and Hiro/Kensei fighting definitely happened, but I figured the painting of the blond woman turned out to be Nikki beating in the door of Bob's office.

Oh yeah, forgot about that! :/

Excellent episode, I was really shocked when I saw Monhinder with the gun and the nose bandage.. and it hit me.. he is going to kill Noah! :0

And then I was even more shocked when we find out that "Adam" is actually Kensei.. I kind of always thought he would turn up in the show in present times because he IS invincible after all.. but its cool that it turns out he is the one responsible for originally bringing all the people together and forming the company.. also kind of evil.. Hiro must always have been destined to go back in time and do the things meant to be done by Kensei,He was the Hero Kensei he read about as a child, not the actual Kensei. Also, It was more than likely "Adam" that killed Kaito Nakamura .. since he hates Hiro, He is invincible so he could jump from a roof and get up and walk away and he was wearing black clothes similar to the person that murdered Kaito..

Another big moment is when Peter finds out that the Shanti Virus kills the entire world.. That was another big "Oh No" Moment for me

Annoying Molly is back :( , Lets hope we dont see too much of her

Overall pobably the best episode so far in the series, Loads of interesting story lines..
Its really starting to get good now, 10/10 without a doubt,

Now lets all hope we dont get this season cut short because of the dam writers strike!!

Loved this episode, future scenes with the virus and peter remembering were very well done, and the story with bob and the start of the virus was excellent too. The only let down was that sap west and claire grating my ear drums.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

The first 10/10 this season.... loved that twist !!!
Hiro's fight was great (nice way to fix history and make Kensei the hero again).
The farewell scene between Hiro and the princess was really well done too.

    Ye it was actually 3.

was it just me or did anyone else see that twist coming a mile off. It was like something from "all my children"... "oh noes, your brothers evil twin is actually your step mothers sister *dun dun duuun*" :D

He was written WAY too much into the story to only be a bit character this season, and the only slot not filled in the present day was the mysterious person killing off the company.
As soon as the killer jumped off the roof with Hiros dad and we found out Adam in the past could regenerate the penny dropped.

Other than that it was a great episode. I'm still wondering what Mama Petrellis power is. I'm thinking it might be time travel now.

Kill the cheerleader, immunise the World!!

    The battle is on.

Personally I would prefer the cheerleader..What can I do with the whole world which I can't do with a cheerleader....mmmmm, whole.

    10 outta 10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,514 ✭✭✭Rollo Tamasi

Yeah, I figured it fairly early that Adam was Kenesi.
Even the name, Adam, is a youthful name (little thing but that name was chosen for a reason by the writers)

could they all in some sick way be adams children and great great great great grand children.
He must of spent alot of time wandering around, maybe he spread his seed and caused all the heroes, him being the original.

If Adam is Kensi and Adam now befriends peter, will we see a Peter/Hiro showdown too??

How it sucks to be right all the time ;)

it seems people can hone their powers like Parkman showed, improving his abilitys to be able to to do what his father can. Similarily Adam/Kensei's deciple Linderman(who i think we might see again) had developed his powers more-so than Claire and was able to heal things other than himself. Therefore it would be logical to assume that Adam/Kensei's powers have evolved during the huge amount of time he has been around to such an extent that he feels like Bob said "godlike".

I wonder if Peter and prehaps Sylar (although more easily Peter) could adapt and aquire Adam/Kensei's godlike power?

would be a good reason why Peters memory was erased, someone didnt want Peter to know he could have such power or even Peter was willing to give up this knowledge in order to have someone else healed/saved, that person being Nathan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭beanyb

No more Ireland or Irish people and no more Japan. All is now right with the Heroes universe. Though I still wasnt that crazy about the episode. I suggested Kensei being Adam to a friend halfway through the episode and he looked at me like I was totally insane. Ah, how I enjoyed proving him wrong! :D

Two strands were good - Mohinder/Nikki/Bob/etc storyline and the Future Earth - and two were weak: Claire "wahh you can't stop me" Bennett and West FOAD Moron.

I think what I did like is that we wrapped up the crappy Japan plot finally and instantly got our more exhubrant Hiro back. The storyline didn't have enough material to stretch over seven episodes and could've been done more quickly and still got the betrayal in. I figured out who he was, and it was confirmed once he made the point about wanting to hurt Hiro but it still felt overly padded. And yeah, I suspect he might be the original hero who helps seed everyone else so perhaps, as a result, he'll have everyone else's power on some level since it all began with him.

Future New York was good and I cheered when Caitlin got torn away :) Peter recovering his memory is a plus too - the amnesia storyline was very weak. Hopefully we've seen a real turn here for the better, especially with Adam/Kensei in the mix.

Bob I thought was defeated a bit too easily, although that was obviously to make way for Adam. I still don't like though how quickly Matt got control of his powers and defeated his dad - too convenient.
Nikki proved weak yet again and Mohinder, once more, shows he's gullible!

All in all an improvement with the potential to go back on a more interesting route after a weak first third. Now if only Sylar will kill the WonderTwins for us next week and move on to West - then I'll be happy!

Great episode but i had a feeling kensi was adam and we also got allot of questions answered about how much dammage claire can take

No one think Ma Petreilis power might be to do with the mind, considering she was able to give Peter back his memories?

I didnt really like the episode that much, tbh. Normally I love it. I think it was because it was slightly confusing.

Well done to Matt for kicking his dads ass. And I liked that the people with powers (PWPs??) were working together.

Gotta love how its come full circle back to "Save the cheerleader, save the world", in a she is the key sort of way.

You think Peter might be immortal now??
Could it have been Parkman's dad that wiped Peter's memories???
Seeing as him and Adam were working together apparently.
Was the virus only meant to kill the "Heroes" , or at least the original strain.
Sure wouldn't it prob do the same to Claire & Adam.
Pity didn't have Linderman now to heal Nikki.

    Ahhhhh......

brilliant episode and i cant help to show up here to say yeay!!:D

we are clear for the picture of the death of Noah(probably someone like Muhinder/parker killed him and claire hugging with little clark),wonderful parker KO his father:''Matt, you bring me here?!SH!TE!'' ,and the touching story behind Kensei in japan(tbh, seems abit weak plot to me,i mean, come on,just a woman!:p),it's seems we know now why hiro's father read ta bed time story for hiro again and again...looks like hiro f*ck up anyway:D

    there are 3 myth though,
1)how come Peter can remember everything about his ma immediately?his ma power or he absorb that photographic memory from Sylar(anyone remember Hiro's first love?poor cafe shop waitress?)
2)bio hazard again?although i have been alaways a fan of Resident evil...but still ,i would love to see more about these bio hazard stuffs!!twins' virus or mutant virus + the weather ability bring down 93% of human?great...that's why Lindermann would love to see 0.07% people in NY die...btw,lindy,will we meet again?:D also, any guess on that snow weather news paper though?
3)lastly,poor sylar...when/how you will show us your place in this season of Heroes?better comes out something good...:)

p/s:the eclipse at the opening(Created by Tim .....) do changed to green colour, lol, bio hazard warning?

Brilliant episode, bringing a lot of the plot points to a head.
    standbyme wrote:

That was deliberate, maybe meant to represent a biohazard now that the plague is spreading. Now that Nikki is infected, has she passed it on to anyone else already? Mrs. Petrelli said Nathan died in the first outbreak, did he catch it when Nikki was infected?
    Jesjes wrote:

I agree, but he didn't recover all his memories - he didn't know who Adam was. I doubt we've seen the last of Caitlin either - Peter will go looking for her. Wonder if Nathan will go looking for Peter now he knows he's alive? He could get Molly to locate him.

Looks like things will come to a head soon with that insufferable wanker West as well. I hope he dies screaming at Sylar's hands. I've never hated a tv character so much.

Another classic Heroes episode. Prison Break was excellent this week as well. It's just a shame they'll both be derailed soon by the WGA strike.

........Pity didn't have Linderman now to heal Nikki.

not eaxcley immortal but able to temporarily use some of Kensai/adam's powers if he thinks about him now that he has definatley come in contact with him, like he can with others although he does not remember this yet. how far exactley Kensai has developed his powers since feudal time is unknown but it does seem he can stop himself from ageing. This is not something Claire can do yet IMO as she is yet to develop her power this far (which is good as the actress is visabley going to age).

why i suggested Linderman may return also is because, as i see it he like claire and Kensai/adam are/were healers. Linderman had developed to the stage where he could heal others under Kensai/adam's guidance. With many hunderds more years of development it isnt an unbleievable leep of faith to believe prehaps Kensai/adam can revive people from death. His protege would be one person he might use this power one.

i... really dont find west *that* annoying... i mean, he's filler and such, but he's just a bit part (presumably..) character playing a role in a larger story, he's not that bad.

i never guessed kensei might be adam, but i kinda thought since the actor was also yer man from alias that he would have a recurring role and definitely wouldnt just be in the past/japan storyline. especially when they showed us his body....

caitlin stuck in future virus land. ha.

so claire's power is different than kensei's? or probably the same. i was disappointed when they started repeating powers inthis series (not that i hoped everyone would have an individual power.. but still, they did kinda build it up that way), but matt's father revealing that their powers evolve could be interesting. claire must have found it weird that west and her dad had the same power....

better episode than anything else this series, but still definitely not 10/10, or as good as most of series 1...

    7 or 8/10

    ish.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

i also do not think Kensai is Immortal as others have suggested, he can however stop himself from ageing which is almost as good but like claire can be killed as she was in series one. However once that piece of metal or whatever it was, was removed from her skull her body healed itself and she came back.

Im really not impressed with Series 2.

hmm.. which raises the question again, how far does claires and adams power go? Ok so the evolved form of claires power is adams immortality, but the writers have made a point that no hero can survive without their brain, but then we also know claire can regenerate... but to what extent?

I mean she lost a toe and it regenerated, could she lose all her limbs? Lose her torso? What? I mean if she was beheaded would she regenerate her body?

I don't think she would. I think if her spine is severed she woould die. Only when the piece of wood was removed from the back of her neck could she regenerate. The same with Peter when Claire removed the glass from the back of his neck, after the fight with Sylar. I think her spine has to be intact, or able to reatched it self.

Noah would have to run around with her head and place it back on her body for her to regenerate... :D

So if her head was severed then that would be it for Claire.

    But I could be wrong.....

yeah, is anyone else thinking of this as a bit of a Luke & Leia moment in the making???

I reckon that Peter's mother must have some sort of psychic/memory power alright, as her voice is kind of echoing through Peters head saying remember when the memories start to flood back

Bob's whole role in this is very complex to try and work out. Why ask Mohinder to search for Claire when both Adam and Peter have the same ability and they are already searching for both?

Will Hiro go back in time and save his father?
Why didn't Adam search out Hiro before now if he was intent on revenge? In fact, how long could one man hold a grudge over a girl he knew for a few months. I'm sure he has fallen for others over the years and forgotten about her.
Why wasn't Adam in the group picture?
Who painted the 8 paintings and when? Was it Peter?

I was really tired when watching this but I'm surprised with all the '10/10!' above. I thought it was average. Or maybe only slightly above.

To be honest, I didn't even realise there was a twist while I was watching it. It all seemed blindingly obvious and/or inconsequential to me. We haven't known Kensei or Adam long enough for the revelation that they're the same person to be in any way shocking. It's like "hey, here's this totally new character you've never heard of before - well, secretly, he's been behind the whole thing! and what's more.. he's actually this other annoying guy who you've only just met and who hasn't done anything of any interest whatsoever until now!!!1".

    Meh.

Aside from that it does seem to be a turning point for most of the storylines and they all seem to be getting a bit better. Still not more than an average for this one though. I think I enjoyed episode three or four more.

An enjoyable episode and good to see the plot threads coming together... but I can't say I found anything terribly surprising in it either.

I was kind of hoping they were going to have West be a bit more sinister than he was letting on... but it looks like that's not going to happen.

im sure adam is smart enough to know that if he searched out Hiro before now i.e pre-2007 & hiros return to the present after New York is saved and exacted his revenge he would have stopped hiro from returning to the past and setting in action the course of events that lead him to be so powerful now.

If Adam had searched for Hiro before then would he not have stopped Hiro going to Japan and the past would have been ****ed up and he wouldn't have ever met Hiro?

Remember they've also had Adam locked away for some time... perhaps even for the duration of Hiro's life.

He might try but he probably won't be able to do it, just like he couldn't save Charlie in Season 1. No matter how much he develops his power, maybe he just won't be able to travel to certain times at will. This makes sense from a storytelling point of view: if Hiro (or Peter) could go back and change whatever they wanted, all the drama would disappear. Every setback could be quickly altered in their favour by travelling in time and Heroes would turn into Quantum Leap.

Limiting the use of time travel like this is a good move. Then again, Future Hiro had a lot more control over his abilities and he seemed to be able to go where he wanted, but maybe there were limits on his time travelling we didn't see.

Wesley Crusher was a tosser but at least he didn't get in the way of me watching Claire like West does. That's just unforgivable.
