    Hi

Planning on over-landing from Hong Kong -> Vietnam -> Cambodia -> Laos

In terms of visas I can get a Chinese one in advance in Dublin.

Vietnamese one can be gotten via London but is not an option for me due to time constraints - can this be applied for at or near the border?
Same goes for Cambodia and Laos?

Worst comes to worst I will jump in to Bangkok and go the 'normal' way round which is well documented in terms of visa application.

    Thanks in advance

I got my Vietnamese visa in Bangkok. So i'm sure you can get it in other countries. But i could only get a 14day visa that day. Other option was to wait 3 days for a 1-month visa to be processed.. If i remember correctly Cambodia and Loas are easy, visa at the border, pay in US$.
I'd say you could get your Viet visa in Hong Kong.

Cheers will try and dig out some info on that. Am in KL now may try the local embassy, just getting time from work is the problem ... hence leaving!

Addresses for Viet embassies in KL and in HK.

Kuala Lumpur: 4 Persairan Stonor · Phone 248-3270
Hong Kong: 15/F Great Smart Tower, 230 Wan Chai Road · Phone: 591-4510

If you are in KL would it not be better to overland through from there through Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam then Hong Kong?? Seems strange to fly to HK only to travel back towards the place you started. Just curious.
Advice for Vietnam would be to travel by train as much as possible. Really good service considering the poverty of the country. Lots of great destinations on the rail route.

Cheers will see what I can arrange here. Any other advices appreciated

Am in KL working at the moment but exit the company before I take my trip which brings me back to Ireland.

So its actually gonna be a full RTW route: US->Japan -> Korea -> Hongkong -> (overland) Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos/Thailand -> India -> home

Killer is I am so near to many of these places now, but never have enough time to take a weekend to explore very far or a week for that matter.
