Downloading Songs using Itunes

    Is it possible to set itunes to download the songs as mp3's instead m4p?

    No because they're copy protected & you cant copy protect mp3

    Can you not change them on iTunes, when you right click them?

    That would just change the name. Even if he changed it to .mp3 it still would not be an mp3 file.

    Are any of the converters out there any good? Do they reduce the quality of the track?

    Generally speaking yes. But didn't they announce a while back that they will be allowing standard (i.e. non-protected) mp3 downloads?

    As far as I know, the mp3 downloads are only for a single label's artists - I can't remember which one (of the big 4)...

    iTunes still worth using if you don't mind burning onto a cd and then back onto comp / mp3 player.

    No. iTunes Plus tracks are unprotected AAC files, not MP3.
    I can't remember which one
    EMI, IIRC.
    Are any of the converters out there any good?
    iTunes itself will allow you to burn your album as an audio CD, and then reimport it as an MP3 track.
