Hi, I've just goit my hands on a pretty cheap analougue TV Tuner Card (Phillips SAA7130) but i'm having trouble getting any stations through the antenna. I've plugged an antenna nito the CATV port on the back of the card and set the software (Intervideo WinDVR) to PAL I, Antenna etc but am getting nothing. I would expect to be able to at least pick up RTE and maybe TV3 but to get absolutly nothing is a bit tiresome. I used to jam a coathanger into the back of an old 12" telly and pick up stations on that so wtf is going on? Am I doing something wrong or should I just invest in a long bit of coax and plug my sky box into it? I'm at the end of my tether now.
Any help would be much welcomed.

Card is broken or you're not scanning the right freqs. Could you be scanning VHF when everything is on UHF in your area?

Most tuners divide the frequencies into >300 discrete channels, you shouldn't have to worry about UHF or VHF. Same with modern televisions. Are you using the correct source, tuner instead of composite etc.? Have you tried to autoscan all channels? Which program are you using? I find www.kastortv.org to be quite good.
