Look up the hotel 'Amelie' on freidreichstrasse. Its a converted house and has lovely rooms at damn good prices. Plus its like a minutes away from one of the underground stations.

Breakfast is pretty basic but at the prices of food in Berlin it doesn't really matter.

I stayed in a hostel called the all-in hostel. Here is a link to it below in hostelworld.com. It is based in friedrichshain. I thought it was a great hostel, very reasonable and in a great location. Lots of restaurants and bars around the area.

Try www.miniloft.com in Mitte, near Friedrichstrasse. Great stylish self catering lofts for two people starting from about €110 a night...
