Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness

I'm planning on applying for this cert - in Carlow IT at the minute anyway - and want to leave the place with a bit more than a BA (not putting the qualification down, but I could do more with my time here).
Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness holders are educated & trained to give instruction in exercise to music, step aerobics, circuit and resistance training. Equally important is the ability to assess fitness levels and to plan safe, effective and enjoyable exercise programmes for individuals or groups of all abilities. NCEF instructors make a positive contribution to the health and well being of the Irish people by encouraging and motivating adults of all ages to pursue physically active lifestyles, to eat healthy food and to manage stress effectively.

So this could definitely open the path to fitness instructor work or coaching etc.

I have all the entry requirements - just have to see if I can be enrolled in 2 different things at the same time here. I should be able to anyway.
This NCEF Programme of Study can be undertaken by day (Mon-Thurs), weekend (Fri & Sat) or evenings (Tues & Thurs)

I might be taking on a lot - but the way I see it, if you're in college, learn as much as you can.

So, can I get any info, input, suggestions ... anything from any trainers, instructors or coaches on the board on the type of work involved or jobs availabe after when I complete this?

Is it a good route to go down?

Right, scrap that - jumped into the idea without much research. 2,000eur + for the cert. May wait a while or find a cheaper option. Or try and find part-time work in the local gyms and learn as much as I can from that.

Most of the courses will be around the same price, around the 2000 grand mark or so.

When your looking at these course make sure you look at what they contain as course material, what they certifiy you to do , any hidden charges ( exam fees and such ) and where they are recognised.
