Angle Shooter Shot Down

Local 1-2 cashgame after a pub tournament. It's usually the same 20 or so of us every week so we all know each other fairly well.

The villian in the hand is a total calling station and would never ever raise without a made hand.

On a board of KhJh8sKd player A bets 20, player B calls and while player C, the villian, is thinking the dealer burns a card and turns over the river which is the Ah.

The dealer's attention is drawn to the villian by another player and the dealer asks him was he going to call. The villian studies the board for a second and then announces that he was in fact going to raise. He raises it all in for another 100.

The minute he makes the raise the dealer pulls the Ah off the table and reshuffles it into the deck. The villians face dropped as the dealer apologised and said the card had to be reshuffled so it had a chance to come out again on the river. Player A folded and player B called the extra 100.

River was a brick and player B took down the pot with AK for trip kings and the villian turned over the Q10h for what would have been a royal flush.

    I laughed about that one

Unsure on the ruling here but what if he had said he was just going to call?

Would it still have been reshuffled?

    yeah, still to be reshuffled
Unlucky as there was no way he was folding the OESFD
Dealers error cost him a huge pot

yeah he was unlucky in fairness but the way he paused, examined the river and then raised was sick. trying to be sneaky. there was no way he was raising that turn. absolutely no way
