My god just got mario galaxy and it is epic!

Got it this morning and it is amazing..the graphics are just...just..faboulous..better than anything i have ever seen..just playing throgh the first galaxy and you wont belive how much fun a video game can actually bee..i was previously lukewarm about this game(prefer sport titles and Metroid 3 games usually) but it is so amazing i cant wait to play through it!!

I'm not that pushed about getting it, never been a fan of marios 3D outings... gathering stars etc...

The only ones I liked to be honest was super mario bros and super mario bros 3.

The more i read about this and the more videos i watch (prologue video blew me away) the more i want this.

It's come to a stage that i'm seriously considering putting Guitar Hero III on the back-burner while i play this. Good job it comes out a day or two after my project deadlines. w00t Mario marathon.

I am seriously considering getting a Wii for this.
Want to know will it look pants...a 480p image (assuming all games use component 480p) stretched across a 1080p screen ?

It'll look alright, but won't be all that great compared to the 360 or PS3.*
Depends on your TV really and how well it can handle 480p input - for some people it looks like total ass, but for some it's acceptable.



*purely from a technical standpoint - the graphics themselves look a hell of a lot more vibrant than anything on the 360 or PS3, just a shame that it's outputting at such a low resolution:(

I cannot wait for this game. More than anything else in the last year. Including Halo. I don't think any of the other 3-D mario games on the N64/GC *felt* like it had roots in the *2d* games. But looking at the list of power-ups available, I can't help to get all giddy :rolleyes:

I have to say it is a class game. Most Wii games tbh are crap. This is an amazing game. Sounds great, looks lovely and play like a dream. Great fun indeed.

Yeah..I think you are right. It's possible and quite likely the component on my Dell 2707 screen will make it look like total ass. Are all games supporting 480p ?

I've got about 75-80 stars in it so far, brilliant, loving it. There's just a few things that annoy me about it so far though. The levels are very linear, unlike mario 64 or sunshine where you could just explore each level and get stars for missions you weren't playing, not so here, most of the levels are in a way like the old 2d mario games, pass one section, get to the next, pass that, get the star. So in a way it can feel very repetitive. Levels are really small too but all in all it's an excellent game.

Iv been told by a few people who have it that it is far from repetitive. Said people are saying it keeps throwing surprises at you all over the shop and very few planetoids are the same. Anyways not long till we all find out for our selves

I'm gobsmacked at this game, sure the levels don't quite sprawl like, say, the opening level of Mario64 but they do pack in a lot of new ideas, and I haven't grinned so much while playing a game since Loco Roco, its wonderful, some of the levels would make great games in their own right, like the Ray Surfing, cool!
