Can anyone suggest somewhere to get golf clothing. I was in McGuirks today & I don't want to insult anyone, but the stuff is aimed at people 20 years older than me. All I'm looking for is some simple well cut trousers...

premier golf in santry/ballymun has a decent range, although it is a tad expensive.

then again, they say you can't put a price on style!:D

They used to have a good range of Peak performance stuff which is quite trendy.

Hard to know what style you're looking for, but Debenhams chain do a decent range of golf gear - sweaters with windproof lining, sleeveless sweaters, trousers with water repellant treaments...

if you just want trousers then buy normal ones in a normal shop. The 'older' type gear in golf shops is generally just that with a golf brand label on them. The sportier makes mentioned below do trousers in tech fabrics and tend to be more expensive though

McGuirks normally have nike, ping, adidas and lindeberg stuff which is not at all 'old' so maybe you didn't look around enough?

I wear Kartel trousers the fabric is like a soft wetsuit i have to say i would not wear anything else.

But i agree with you it is hard to find good golf clothing shops.

I actually got slacks in M&S, they area good cut and have water resistant fabric - plain black.

McGuirks in Blanch had Nike, but only a couple of pairs of slacks which were far from nice. No Adidas, but there was a nice pair for €175 (not sure what brand).

I like the Puma stuff, will try to get to their concept store in London...

the €175 ones would have been lindeberg. The McGuirks in leapordstown has some adidas stuff but as you say they tend to sell out of anything nice v quickly. M&S are good for cheap decent quality stuff. you can get some puma stuff in the shop at leapordstown driving range and have seen it in other pro shops, eg carton house.

Same here - very comfortable and does away with the need for waterproofs in light/medium rain.

I'm looking to get a few pairs of funky golf slacks for the summer. This function18 stuff looks pretty good. I just found another place online that looks alright called as well called SubSeventy.

Anyone else recommend any other brands along these lines?

    Try www.trendygolf.com
Haven't bought from them but see them advertised on the howdidido website. They have a free delivery for members of howdidido which you may be able to avail of.

If you are looking for really funky slacks then www.loudmouthgolf.com is your only man.

bought trousers from subseventy. hard to judge what you're getting when browsing online. Trousers weren't as nice once I got them, fairly tight fit too, so kinda wasted that money :(
