    i wanna get one for bout €800. will use it for playing football manager, internet and downloading music.

    any suggestions?

    This should do. Downgrade the warranty to a 1 year and it comes in at arouond €600 excluding vat and delivery.

    if i bought 1 in pc world would i get ripped off?don't have my own credit card to buy online but could use someone‘s if i had to

    I'm gonna agree with Almighty, i have a Vostro 1500, and i can run the new football manager very handily...


    Stay well away from PC World, compare the specs you can get with Dell against those in-store, you'll be paying an awful lot more in-store...

    i'd like to resurrect this thread. same criteria. any recommendations? how long does it normally take dell to deliver?

    Normally (according to Dell) takes 10 working days for delivery but can be quicker and can be longer if theres a parts shortage.
    Definately check out their Vostro range of laptops as there pretty good value for money. Also check out the Dell Laptops Deals thread under the Bargain Alerts forum here on Boards.
