Hello ,I recently bought a plasma TV and now I'm looking to hook up my pc to it.

I don't want to burn the screen too much ,so is there anyway I can set a DVI connection on the pc to only output windows media centre ?
So basically the desktop never appears on the TV ,only use of the media centre ?

I don't want to fork out for cables if I don't have to ,so any help is appreciated.
My current thinking is stick the pc under the tv and connect DVI-HDMI and run a really long cheap VGA cable to my monitor.

im not sure if I follow you, but if you mean have media center on one monitor and your desktop on another then the only way I can think of doing it is running media centre in a window and dragging it across onto the plasma.

Of course, if you are using the computer, say for word then that window will be highlighted and may cause interface issues for the people using media centre.

I will start in a windows every time, not sure if it will open on the plasma though. I guess it should. Unless media center is highlighted, it wont respond to remote inputs, rather they will only effect the app thats highlighted, or the desktop.

To put it in a window (you proabbly know this already) just move the mouse around while in media center and youll see the usual window resize icons in the top right corner. You can click the resize button and drag it to wherever you want.

Come to think of it, the biggest PITA might me picking a spanned res that wil look good on both the plasma and you rmonitor, espcially if you monitor is 4:3
