Just spotted this on the website, seems pretty cheap. Were they around before? and if so are they any use?

This seems to a be a pricer version of a power tool set they have had before by same brand. This one comes with an elec screwdriver which was not in previous versions. In the past it sold for about 30 euro, so maybe this is a bit better quality or you are paying the extra for the elec screwdriver.

The motor on the drill of the 30 euro version was fairly weak.

I got one last time, it was €50 and had the same tools. Everything works fine and motors are good. Never use the screwdriver put the drill has been much used and abused and still working.

I bought a previous version to this (had no screwdriver), and the motor wasn't great, and the trigger was fixed speed (on or off), not variable. Still works, mainly because I don't use it much anymore. The torch worked for an hour before blowing, though I suppose that was just unlucky with the bulb. Jigsaw and sander still work OK too.

Not sure if I was just unlucky or whether newer drills have the variable trigger.

The one I bought, which was the last one I think, has variable trigger and the motor has taken a lot of abuse and not packed in. Still getting use, but not as much as all DIY is done for a while. For €50 and Aldi's no quibble change policy you can't really go wrong.

FWIW, I have bought various 'offers' of various contents like this. In general I find that 20V+ is necessary for any serious DIY. I find that the offers for various bits and pieces in a set have either stuff you'll never use or they are all a bit 'weak'

The best deal I ever got was through Screwfix (UK, you need someone there for delivery) for a 24V drill with hammer, variable speed, etc., great one.

    Bye, Barry
