Absolutely love this film, and glad to see it got in this week.

It's just such an incredibly unique film, and never fails to put a smile on my face.

I would post up my thoughts on this film, but, uh...

...I have to return some videos.

    :D

Excellent film. Christian Bale gives a brilliant performance. The commentary by him throughout it really does show how f***ed in the head he was.

And the look on his face when (I think it was Paul Allen) shows him his business card.

That bit was absolutely priceless. :D

And Bale was absolutely incredible, especially at the end when he's
trying to convince everyone that he's a killer, and how frantic he gets.

    The scene when Bateman
kills paul allen with the axe
has to be one of the best scenes in movie history. It's just awesome!!!

Couple that with the opening scene where Bateman is describing his morning routine and at the end of it describes how he has no real identity while at the same time pulling the (facial) mask off is VERY well done.

    Great movie.

I remember feeling weird for being so entertained the first time I saw it.
    Bale play the psycho well.

It was the best scene of the movie for me, So tense and electric.

Excellent black comedy with most of the gruesome stuff left to the imagination. Loved the film so much that I went out and bought the book, which I HATED - not nearly as funny, and far too gruesome for my tastes.

Bale was a brilliant Bateman. Great film.

Used to enjoy this film when I was young but it really isn't that good at all. Bar some excellent scenes with Bale in it, the film doesn't have a great flow to it and it really could have been a great movie if they tried that bit harder. The book was excellent while the movie adaption left a lot to be desired.

Check out the book, not the film.

Bale is good in it I'll give you that but meh I thought it was pointless, shallow and totally without meaning. I know that's supposed to be the point but I don't like that kinda stuff.

Not a bad film just not Film of the Week material for me

The book is enormously boring, with schlock ultra violence every second chapter, that made me skip about 1/3 of the whole book.

The film is good, better on a second viewing.

Maybe you should read the ENTIRE book before making a silly comment like that? Boring is certainly one word you should not use when talking about the book.

Any book that has whole chapters devoted to Whitney Houston and Mike and The Mechanics is boring by my reckoning.

After about the forth or fifth chapter I was thinking: "Yes, we get it, he's shallow and likes shìt music, it was funny for a while... now give me a story."

    Boring.

Oh, I didn't think the author was trying to get across the idea that he liked **** music, new to me. Your one gripe is about the music mentioned in the book? :D

    Haha, how lame.

You might have missed that bit cuz you were flicking between the schlock-porn-violence.

No. You are either not reading my post properly, or being deliberately obtuse.

The movie talks about the same music and went further by actually playing it, I enjoyed that. The actual music itself is not my problem. It's the sheer amount of pages that get filled up with Bateman's musings on it. These are boring after 1 page, let alone a whole chapter, let alone multiple chapters.

And that obviously isn't my only gripe. I've already told you that, it's boring.

I saw this a while ago and enjoyed it. Bale is brilliant in it. But, um, I'm not sure how to interpret the ending...
    Any help?

    Read the book.

Eh was hoping for a tad more help than that...

REally enjoyed this Film. Some Great scenes. The Naked Chainsaw chase is Brilliant.
I picked up the book after this and had to stop after the Wire and Drill bits. Still haven't gone back to it.

    Loved the movie.

I must get my hands on the book though! Who's it by again please?

The book was written by Bret Easton Ellis.

As for the person who asked about the ending:
It's supposed to be ambiguous. It is not certain exactly how much of the story is real or imaginary.
