Masters are Postgraduate. Postgraduate covers everything after a Bachelors, normally. Level 9+. At least that's the definition I'd go on..

Myth - where did you get that diagram? I know I've seen it somewhere, before but I can't for the life of me remember where.

It's handy for describing to students the whole 10-Level structure.

Sorry, haven't been on boards as much of late. Type in NFQ into google, or go onto NFQ.ie, or go looking for the National Framework of (for?) Qualification and you'll find it. I used to be on the academic council in Trinity and am a previous SU sabbat in Trinity so it was necessary to know these things then. That's how I came about it anyways :)

As an aside, what I found interesting is that most people finishing their Leaving Cert these days have some appreciation for the NFQ, given that the points are categorised as per Level 8 or Level 7 etc. I didn't know a thing about it 'til I got to college :D

Is a postgrad diploma rated higher than an honours degree?

Level 8 vs. Level 7? I would say yes based on that alone.

Funny how that diagram gives "Higher Diploma" as level 8 but "post-graduate diploma" as level 9. I'd have thought they were the same thing (i.e. post-Bachelor's degree qualifications) with only the name varying from institution to instituton. This implies otherwise if I am reading it correctly.
