While tring to logon to the network using a XP machine. I get the following error:

"Windows cannot connect to the domain either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear contact your System Administrator for assistance"

I can logon after a couple of attempts and everything works fine. Any one got an idea as to why this is happenning?

More than likly I would say its just a slow network. And you are trying to log on, before the server has even acknowledged the client.

Thats why you seem to get it after a few attempts .

Check your dns settings are pointing to a valid AD enabled dns server on the domain.
