According to this we can expected a new line from CA that will be less expensive. ACM is making an impact, good for the consumer.

well i think this is great news. it finally proves that ACM is having a financial effect even on the older customer base. if CA were not feeling it in the pocket with their normal customer base and their potential to grow, quite frankly, they would not give a crap. It also means, despite the moans and groans and vilification of ACM, its quality is improving as well, that they are targetting the higher players. I suspect CA are not alone here. At least for CA they can go towards ABS or plastic versions, however for TM, i would imagine they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The other positive is that ACM, the truly crap ones will begin to die away now as no one will touch them and the main players will have to get better as well. it is not good news for a lot of the smaller players either. With Element making striking poses in the parts department, some of the specialist parts manufacturers are also in trouble. so we can also expect to see some of the names we are familiar with begin to disappear over the next 5 years. I would guess companies like G&P (an old favourite of mine),SRC, G&G (a long time favourite of mine) to name but a few are looking down the barrel from the wrong end. sad but i suppose inevitable.

It will be interesting to see if a high end ACM player comes on the market. its only a matter of time before they do.

so imagine if someone started making SYSTEMA quality for 300 dollars in the aeg market?

the big unknown is what will happen china in the future, will the dictatorship last or will it fold, what will the companies do to survive, will they specialise or change to cheaper model lines...it sure will be very interesting to watch. anyone out there interesting in business and the chinese effect...here is a book waiting to be written...

edit: one other thing a CA for 139euro...anyone interested? i know i would be.

an interesting development alright, not sure how i feel about it though, not a fan of plastic bodied aegs (exceptions being P90 and G36 etc..), much prefer a metal body, has a nicer feel to it and much easier to work with too, although what the CA plastic is like remains to be seen i guess...

From what I've seen of the CA G36K, the ABS is no better then what you get from the likes of JG, and no where near as good as the likes of star.

Nope the JG G36C is ABS and from a purely visual perspective looks to be of the same quality as the CA G36K ABS.

Could have sworn it had a metal shell, I should probably play with them a little more often.

I've very briefly fondled a real steel SL8 recently in Offaly and the finish/feel of it feels
very similar to my JG G36C.
