Cat with cloudy eye

    Hi All
wondering if anyone has experienced this. My little kitty (bout 7 mths old) recently has a 'cloudy' eye. Its really weird...i only notice it when its night time (in artificial lighting)...during the day it looks grand. Its like his pupil is cloudy, not the stark black that his other eye displays.

Has anyone ever had this happen to their kitty.

Not meaning to sound bad, but i won't have the cash to send him to the Vets until next week....

Otherwise he's in the best of health...running around like a mad thing...glossy coat...in great form all the time....purring after only one stroke!....

So i hope anyone can offer me advise. ..

There are about a million things that can cause cloudy eyes in cats. Is your cat vaccinated? Or is there any evidence of trauma to the eye or any discharge from the eye or nose?
EDIT: is the cat in contact with any other animals?

yep all his shots....no trauma (well besides the fact that I was away for a week, and the cat apparently missed me terribly) no discharge. Like I said, the cat looks the picture of health --- well besides his terminator eye.

Was the cat in a cattery while you were away?

It's impossible to say what it is but you should defo take it to the vet if it worsens, spreads to the other eye, or is accompanied by eye or nose discharge, or of course if it persists for more than a few days.

A corneal ulcer often shows up as a cloudy patch on an eye. The vet will be able to determine if that's the problem and prescribe eye drops.

Off to vet with you as soon as you can :D

Could also be a cataract - off to the vet to get it checked!
